Recently, in Gia Nghia City, the Cooperative Union of Dak Nong , Quang Tri, and Hau Giang provinces coordinated to organize a conference to promote trade and connect product consumption in the economic zone.

The event not only expands the consumer market but also affirms the key role of cooperatives in sustainable agricultural development and new rural construction.

Products of cooperatives in Dak Nong are displayed and introduced at the Conference on trade promotion and connecting consumption of products in the collective economic sector between the three provinces of Dak Nong, Quang Tri, and Hau Giang in mid-May 2025.

Dak Nong, Quang Tri and Hau Giang provinces introduced many typical products such as coffee, pepper, fruits, medicinal herbs, rice and seafood...

In particular, cooperatives and cooperative groups of the three provinces are increasingly focusing on investing in raw material areas that meet VietGAP and organic standards. Many units have boldly applied technology, invested in specialized processing lines and standard factories, in order to increase product value and competitiveness in the market.

Cooperatives of Dak Nong and Quang Tri learn about products displayed at trade promotion conference

The provincial cooperative alliance assessed that OCOP products are the “extended arm” of cooperatives. Thanks to the companionship of the OCOP Program and support from functional agencies, cooperatives in Quang Tri have improved their management capacity, built effective business plans, promoted communication, and connected consumption through e-commerce platforms, fairs, etc. Thereby, local products are increasingly widely known, creating stable income for members, contributing to the development of the local economy and society.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Cap Kim Thanh, Chairman of the Quang Tri Province Cooperative Union, shared that the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program has truly become a driving force for rural economic development. To date, the province has 172 certified OCOP products, of which 42 products belong to cooperatives, accounting for nearly 25%.

Many cooperatives in Quang Tri such as Trieu Phong Clean Agricultural Products Cooperative, Khe Sanh Coffee Cooperative, Vinh Linh Pepper Cooperative... not only have 4-star and 5-star products but also represent the regional identity and sustainable farming tradition of the locality.

Quang Tri introduces a variety of products of cooperatives

“These products are all carefully invested in from the production process, quality testing, traceability, to environmentally friendly packaging designs,” shared the Chairman of the Quang Tri Province Cooperative Union.

Representatives of Hau Giang Cooperative Union introduced agricultural products of local cooperatives to the provinces.

Mr. Ho Van Phu, Chairman of Hau Giang Cooperative Union, said that the province currently has 293 cooperatives and 4 cooperative unions operating mainly in the fields of rice, fruit, and seafood. The province has up to 348 OCOP products, of which 45 products belong to cooperatives and 3 products meet 5-star standards.

“Hau Giang is promoting brand building and product promotion through various channels. Participating in this conference in Dak Nong, Hau Giang cooperatives have learned many effective production linkage models, and at the same time sought partners to expand the consumption market, especially for high-quality fruit, rice and processed seafood products,” said Mr. Phu.

Dak Nong has many high quality agricultural products

For Dak Nong province, developing agro-forestry-fishery is always the key orientation in building sustainable agriculture.

Mr. Nguyen Khai, Chairman of the Dak Nong Province Cooperative Union, emphasized: "Dak Nong's cooperatives are actively investing in processing technology, building brands and clean raw material areas, to meet domestic and international standards."

Coffee, pepper, fruits, medicinal plants and vegetables of Dak Nong are not only typical of the highlands but are also produced in an organic and environmentally friendly way. Thanks to that, many products have achieved OCOP certification, gradually penetrating large domestic and foreign markets.

Representatives of the Cooperative Alliance of Dak Nong, Quang Tri, Hau Giang discussed and shared solutions to develop product value chains, enhance competitiveness, build brands and promote trade promotion. In particular, the provinces identified trade promotion as the key step to connect products from cooperatives to the market, especially supermarket systems, retail chains, e-commerce platforms, etc.
