Ensure that schools in mountainous areas deploy synchronously and on schedule

On the morning of November 16, Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh and his delegation attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a primary and secondary boarding school for the border communes at the main bridge point of Duc Nong commune, Quang Ngai province; and attended the National Great Unity Day in Cha Nhay village, Duc Nong commune, Quang Ngai province. Other bridges were in the three communes of Mo Rai, Sa Loong, and Ro Koi.

Also attending were leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training , the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, the National Assembly delegation, and provincial leaders from different periods. Especially, there was the presence of hundreds of teachers and students from the province's border communes.

Creating a "launching pad" for border students

Four projects of the Primary - Secondary Boarding School in Duc Nong, Mo Rai, Ro Koi and Sa Loong communes are key projects, part of the investment policy to build schools in land border communes, contributing to the movement "The whole country for beloved border students".

The projects have a total investment of 59 - 207 billion VND; the scale of about 30 classrooms, meeting the learning needs of 1,000 students, including a system of boarding houses for students, public houses for teachers, libraries, physical areas, cafeterias and synchronous auxiliary works. Construction completion time is before August 30, 2026. The Duc Nong Commune Primary - Secondary Boarding School alone has a scale of 47 classrooms, serving about 1,600 students.

At the ceremony, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh affirmed that the event has profound significance, demonstrating the sentiments and responsibilities of the Party and State towards the cause of education, towards people in remote, isolated and border areas of the Fatherland. These schools are places for students to study and train, symbols of faith, will to rise up, and solidarity between the lowlands and the highlands, between the people of the whole country and the border people.

In recent years, with the attention of the Central Government, along with the spirit of solidarity and creativity of the entire political system, Quang Ngai province, newly merged from the old Quang Ngai and Kon Tum provinces, has achieved many important results in many fields. The Quang Ngai Education and Training sector has had many positive changes, the scale of the school network has been expanded. The whole province currently has over 950 educational institutions, more than 474,000 students at all levels, over 32,800 dedicated and devoted cadres, teachers and staff. Many localities in mountainous, remote and ethnic minority areas have made efforts to overcome difficulties, maintain the rate of mobilizing students to go to school, and gradually improve the quality of comprehensive education.

Quang Ngai province has a policy to build 9 inter-level boarding schools in 9 border communes; of which phase 1 is in 4 border communes including Mo Rai, Duc Nong, Ro Koi and Sa Loong with a total investment of more than 600 billion VND from the central budget, expected to be inaugurated at the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year. These projects solve the problem of infrastructure, contribute to ensuring equity in education, narrowing regional gaps, improving people's knowledge, training human resources for disadvantaged areas and strengthening national defense and security in border areas.

In order for the projects to be completed soon and effectively, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh requested the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province to direct investors and construction units to strictly implement regulations on construction investment management, ensuring quality, progress, safety, efficiency, and avoiding formalities and delays. Along with that, the Education and Training sector proactively prepares a team of qualified and dedicated managers, teachers, and staff suitable for the boarding school model, while focusing on educating students in ethics, life skills, and national cultural identity. The Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Finance, and relevant ministries continue to pay attention to supporting and removing difficulties in capital and procedures for projects, so that the program can be implemented synchronously, on schedule, and achieve practical results.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh presented a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh to teachers and students of Duc Nong Commune Primary - Secondary Boarding School and 1,600 warm coats to the school's students.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province Nguyen Hoang Giang pledged to mobilize all resources, promote the tradition of studiousness, solidarity and high determination of the Party Committee, government and people so that the border boarding school projects will soon be completed, becoming model schools, bright spots of the province's education sector.

Promoting the spirit of national solidarity

Attending the National Great Unity Day in Cha Nhay village, Duc Nong commune, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh highly appreciated the results that the village's cadres and people have achieved, especially in the fields of building great unity and poverty reduction.

Citing President Ho Chi Minh's teaching "Unity, unity, great unity - Success, success, great success", the Deputy Prime Minister hopes that the cadres and people of Cha Nhay village will continue to promote the achievements they have made, continue to build and develop the great unity bloc with the spirit of "helping each other in times of need".

The village strives to have no poor households by 2026; maintain a good rate of children going to school and receiving at least high school education; build culture in residential areas and villages; people strictly follow the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws... Quang Ngai provincial authorities at all levels continue to promote the results achieved in building and developing all aspects of people's lives with the spirit of "success must be measured by the people's lives being increasingly improved and enhanced".

Cha Nhay village is located near the center of Duc Nong commune, 50m north of the commune. The total population of the village is 216 households, 843 people; of which 97% of the population in the village are ethnic minorities, mainly Gie - Trieng. The number of poor and near-poor households is 6 households, accounting for 2.7%. In recent years, the village has invested in building essential works such as inter-village roads, electricity, domestic water, schools..., creating favorable conditions for people in production, business and trade of goods, developing industries.

Since the implementation of the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural life and civilized urban areas" associated with the Campaign "Changing the thinking and working style of ethnic minorities, helping ethnic minorities to escape poverty sustainably" along with the tradition of solidarity associated with the spirit of mutual love, mutual assistance and the efforts to improve themselves of each person, up to now, people's lives have had positive changes.
