Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Phan Viet Hai said: Immediately after there was no longer any district-level police, following the direction of the Provincial Police, the unit quickly received officers, soldiers, vehicles, and equipment from the Traffic Police teams of the districts, towns, and cities. Taking over the routes and areas and fully deploying forces and vehicles for closed patrols and controls, thereby not leaving any areas vacant, ensuring traffic safety and order.

Along with that, the professional work of the traffic police force is also carried out continuously, without interruption according to the principle of people following the work, according to the field and area that the district-level traffic police force was previously in charge of. The patrol teams are fully equipped with technical means to control and strictly handle groups of violations that are the main causes of traffic accidents.

In particular, violations related to alcohol and drug concentrations; expanding the vehicle's trunk, carrying overloaded or oversized cargo, transporting goods without properly securing them; speeding, not obeying traffic lights, driving in the wrong lane or section of the road; driving in the wrong direction, not complying with regulations on giving way at intersections; driving in groups causing traffic obstruction, weaving, etc.

“In addition, officers and soldiers of the unit attach importance to propaganda among the people, especially young people and students, about traffic safety laws. In particular, pay attention to information and propaganda about new points of the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety and Decree 168/2024/ND-CP on supplementing a number of violations and increasing penalties... so that people know, thereby raising people's awareness of law compliance when participating in traffic", informed Lieutenant Colonel Phan Viet Hai.

Present at the traffic control checkpoint on Le Loi Street, Dong Ha City, the reporter noticed that officers and soldiers of the Road Traffic Police Team worked urgently, in accordance with the style and regulations. Through the records, it can be seen that many vehicles were stopped to check driving licenses, alcohol concentration... but there were very few violations, mainly due to forgetting to bring vehicle registration and driving license.

“We regularly deploy professional measures to strictly control and ensure traffic safety on the routes under our responsibility. The good news is that common violations in the past have decreased significantly thanks to people’s increasing awareness of obeying traffic safety laws,” said Captain Ho Chi Thanh, Road Traffic Police Team.

At the checkpoint on National Highway 49C, through the Bo Ban area, Trieu Phong district, 4 officers and soldiers of the Road Traffic Police Team are on duty to regulate traffic during rush hour to facilitate people's travel when the number of motorbikes, bicycles and cars passing through the area at this time increases dramatically. The traffic police force's quick deployment of forces and vehicles to ensure traffic safety on routes and areas after the district police no longer have any has received the consensus and support of the people.

“At this time, students are out of school and workers are coming home from work, so there are times when traffic jams occur here. There are a few traffic police officers working, so people's travel is more convenient and safer. People really hope that the police force will be present on the roads regularly to check and strictly handle violations as well as guide and regulate traffic,” said Mr. Tran Nhon, in Trieu Phuoc commune, Trieu Phong district.

According to information from the Traffic Police Department, in March 2025, the unit mobilized maximum forces and means to ensure traffic safety and order in the province. In particular, through patrolling and controlling, 1,056 cases of traffic safety law violations were detected and recorded, with fines of over 2.7 billion VND; compared to the same period in 2024, there were 1,304 fewer cases, with fines of 2.35 billion VND. Of which, 489 cases were speeding violations; 95 cases of alcohol concentration while driving; 72 cases of illegal parking...

In March 2025, there were 9 traffic accidents in the province, injuring 9 people and killing 2 people; compared to the same period in 2024, there were 7 fewer traffic accidents, 5 fewer injuries and 5 fewer deaths.

After the district police and traffic police forces were no longer present, the Quang Tri Provincial Police made efforts to stabilize the organization, the aspirations of the staff and soldiers to arrange enough forces and means to avoid interruptions and leave areas vacant in management, control and strictly handle violations of traffic safety and order. From there, ensuring smooth and safe traffic in the area, minimizing traffic accidents.

“To continue to maintain traffic safety and order in the area, in the coming time, the Traffic Police Department will continue to deploy sufficient forces and vehicles, increase patrols and controls, especially on key routes and areas, detect and strictly handle violations, especially violations that cause traffic accidents, contributing to building and forming a culture of civilized and safe traffic participation. Thereby, contributing to stabilizing and developing the socio-economy”, affirmed Senior Lieutenant Colonel Phan Viet Hai.
