List of members of Hue University's Faculty Council causes a stir

On May 15, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Van Giang, Head of the Department of Science, Technology and International Relations (Hue University), informed that the school's leaders had signed a decision to establish 4 Hue University's Professorial Councils in 2025.

The councils established include: natural sciences, social sciences and humanities, agriculture - biology, medicine - pharmacy. Each council has 9 members.

Notably, after the list of 9 members of the Social Sciences and Humanities Council was made public, a name on the council attracted public attention.

Many people questioned the assurance of regulatory standards, when they discovered some past scandals allegedly involving this council member.

Meanwhile, members of the above council will contribute an important voice to 14 candidates whose records are considered for recognition and appointment to the title of Associate Professor in the field of social sciences and humanities at Hue University this year.

According to Mr. Giang, the selected members are those who are participating in training, fostering and management from university level and above, introduced by teachers in the Hue University Science and Training Council.

Members of the Faculty Council are selected according to the correct procedure, ensuring the standards and criteria specified in Decision No. 37/2018/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister.

According to regulations, members of the Basic Council of Professors must have good political and moral qualities, a clear background, high scientific reputation, and have research results published in international scientific journals or published by reputable publishers for 5 consecutive years.

Members must also be proficient in foreign languages for professional work and communicate well in English,...

Regarding the case of conflicting opinions on social networks, Mr. Giang said that it happened many years ago.

This member has participated in the 2024 Faculty Council and ensures the criteria and standards according to current regulations.
