Attending the conference, Dr. Nguyen Ngo Quang - Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Training (Ministry of Health) - emphasized that the Ministry of Health hopes that "medical universities will closely coordinate with us in building a common question bank, at the same time perfecting output standards associated with professional practice standards, combining with enhancing clinical practice at hospitals, creating the best conditions for learners, so that graduates meet common standards of competence".
According to Mr. Quang, to innovate Vietnamese medical education, we first need to learn from advanced models and implement a standard medical practice competency assessment exam.
It is necessary to ensure that all practicing medical staff have sufficient knowledge, skills and professional attitudes according to national standards and meet international integration requirements.
According to the Ministry of Health, many training institutions have pioneered the application of digital technology in teaching, simulating medical cases, training skills and assessing practical capacity.
"However, I note that in technology development and application, AI or any other technology cannot replace teachers, but is only a tool for teachers and learners to use together to develop more effectively," Dr. Quang shared.
Attending the conference, representatives of medical training schools and hospitals all wanted to learn about the digital transformation technology application model, standards in assessment and granting professional capacity of advanced countries.
The Ministry of Health recommends that schools develop a comprehensive digital transformation strategy in medical training, combining the development of open, multi-platform learning content, as well as promoting research on ethics and law, especially data security issues in AI applications in medicine.
