(Fatherland) - The red cotton trees blooming on some streets of Hue city have added to the beauty of the ancient capital's landscape during the spring days.

In late February, on some streets of Hue city, cotton trees bloom, lighting up the sky of the ancient capital.

Kapok flowers, also known as cotton flowers, are grown in many northern provinces. This flower is often associated with the scenery of peaceful countryside.

Not planted as much as in other provinces and cities, the royal poinciana trees in Hue grow alone but when they bloom, they are brilliant thanks to the inherent beauty of this city.

The kapok tree belongs to the woody family, has rough roots, thorns, and is very poor at withstanding stormy weather. In return, after Tet around March, the kapok flowers bloom beautifully, creating a beautiful landscape and attracting visitors to check in.

The cotton tree flower has single petals, with 5 large, thick petals.

The pistil of the cotton flower is fragile but straight, with red dots on the top like sparks about to burst into flames.

At Da Vien bridge area (Hue city) there are 4 kapok trees, which usually bloom in March but this year they bloomed earlier than usual.

The leader of Hue Green Park Center said that in Hue there are currently about 60 kapok trees, which were purchased from the northern provinces for planting. Up to now, the kapok trees have grown and adapted well to the climate, so they often bloom beautifully. The kapok tree in the area near Da Vien bridge is over 30 years old.

With the characteristics of beautiful flowers and fast growth, the kapok tree is of interest and planted in park areas to create landscapes, attracting people and tourists when coming to Hue.

The clusters of cotton flowers are like torches lighting up the sky of the ancient capital Hue these days.

The appearance of the cotton tree flowers also signals the passing of the cold days, giving way to the summer sunshine.

"I thought that the royal poinciana flowers were only found in the North, but I didn't expect that Hue city also has many beautiful royal poinciana trees. The color of the royal poinciana flowers blends with the scenery of Hue, creating a truly poetic scene for locals and tourists to visit and take pictures," said Ms. Tran Huyen Trang (a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City).
