Secretary of the town's Youth Union Vu Dai Duong said: This summer, the town welcomed nearly 1,400 teenagers and children from school to the local area for activities. In addition to weekly summer activities in residential groups, the Youth Union coordinated with teachers of Physical Education at schools to organize swimming lessons for children through the support of Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen's family. This is the second year the Youth Union organized swimming lessons for children with the coordination between youth union members of schools and parents.

According to statistics from residential areas, currently, Trai Cau town has more than 20 teenagers and children from poor families, parents often work far from home, do not have the conditions to take care of children, so the town Youth Union has organized free swimming lessons for them. Thereby helping them have a healthy, safe living environment and improve their skills to prevent drowning.

In Van Han commune, Secretary of the Commune Youth Union Vi Manh Cong and local youth mobilized 40 children to come to Pha Ly hamlet to learn swimming, through the support of physical education teachers at schools in the commune. It is known that the Youth Union has provided free support to children from difficult family circumstances and has maintained it since the summer of 2023 until now, attracting a large number of teenagers and children to participate. For difficult areas such as Tan Long and Hop Tien communes, the Commune Youth Union coordinated with school youth unions in the commune to install mobile rubber swimming pools to organize swimming lessons for children, and partially supported the cost so that children in difficult circumstances could practice.

According to Dong Hy District Youth Union Secretary Nong Quoc Huy, in addition to summer activities and youth volunteering towards the countryside, in the summer of 2025, the Youth Union bases are interested in integrating youth to help teenagers and children in the countryside maintain weekly activities and clean the residential environment, and at the same time organize swimming lessons in qualified places, so that children can practice their health and improve their skills to avoid drowning. Up to now, the whole district has nearly 30 swimming pools, including dozens of mobile rubber swimming pools installed in residential areas.

According to statistics, since the beginning of the summer vacation, the whole district has organized free swimming lessons for more than 300 disadvantaged children and teenagers. Most of the children are directly supported and guided by teachers at schools in the commune and town, so they are very methodical, close and friendly. Each course is organized continuously for 10 days so the children can adapt quickly and know how to swim, no longer afraid of water.

Opening a free swimming class is not only a useful summer playground, but also equips children with basic knowledge to prevent drowning. In each class, in addition to being instructed on how to swim, children also practice rescuing drowning people; first aid skills in case of drowning... Through this class, children will quickly learn to swim and have the skills to protect themselves from drowning accidents.
