Speed ​​up investment preparation progress for 21 drainage and flood prevention projects

According to the Department of Construction, the Chairman of the City People's Committee agreed with the Department's proposal on the implementation contents and expected progress of investment preparation work for 21 drainage and flood prevention projects to speed up the implementation of procedures for reporting investment proposals, feasibility study reports... of the projects.

Specifically, the project management boards will complete and send investment policy reports to the departments in April 2025 for drainage projects such as: drainage lines connecting the downstream of Tran Nam Trung Street; upgrading and renovating pumping stations for drainage treatment and flood prevention (Thuan Phuoc and Dao Xanh pumping stations); dredging sludge from the regulating lake at Thanh Nien Park (Do Xu Lake); upgrading and expanding Da Co culvert and replacing Lo Voi culvert with a bridge (Cach Mang Thang Tam Street); renovating regulating lakes and building drainage systems in the Da Nang Airport area; dredging, upgrading and renovating regulating lakes in the upstream area of ​​Phan Lang Canal; investing in and renovating regulating lakes in Bau Gia Thuong and Bau Gia Ha areas and the culvert and drainage system in Phong Bac area...

The Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects for Traffic and Agricultural Works completed the investment policy report for the project to upgrade and renovate drainage canals from Hoang Van Thai Street to Hoa Minh Canal (B14 Canal in Phu Loc River Basin), including a proposal to upgrade and expand the bridge over the railway between the two lakes in Trung Nghia area and the bridge over Hoang Thi Loan Street in April 2025; coordinate with the consulting unit to study and calculate the overall drainage, upgrade and renovation solutions and complete the investment policy report for the project to repair, renovate and dredge Phu Loc Canal in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Along with that, carefully study the investment in the drainage system from Khanh Son landfill to Hoa My canal in the overall solutions to prevent flooding in the area of ​​the western beltway 2, Me Suot, Nguyen Sinh Sac extension and the urban reconstruction of this area. In the immediate future, Da Nang Drainage and Wastewater Treatment Company will survey, propose plans and implement dredging and clearing vegetation in the Phu Loc riverbed, promptly solving drainage and preventing flooding for upstream areas during the 2025 storm season.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee unanimously directed project management boards and departments to speed up the implementation progress, complete documents and procedures to start construction of 6 drainage and flood prevention projects in the second and third quarters of 2025, including: starting construction of the sewer line from Phu Loc canal to Nguyen Tat Thanh street (sewer line along Phung Hung street) in August 2025; the canal line from Bau Tram lake to Hoa Khanh - Cu De canal in September 2025; drainage branch No. 2 of the Khe Can sewer line project and the project to cover the 500m long open ditch along Hong Thai - Tan Trao street in July 2025; the drainage line from Xuan Hoa A lake to Da Nang bay in August 2025; Upgrading the pumping station at the end of Ong Ich Khiem Street (phase 2) in May 2025, completing construction and putting into use in October 2025.

Along with that, the project of combined park and drainage in the area sandwiched between the western beltway 2 and road number 4 of Hoa Khanh Industrial Park will start in December 2025; in the immediate future, the Drainage and Wastewater Treatment Company will complete dredging and cleaning this drainage channel in August 2025.

Along with agreeing on the progress of completing documents and procedures to prepare for investment in 21 drainage and flood prevention projects, the Chairman of the City People's Committee also assigned project management boards (investors) to develop detailed implementation plans for each project and send them to the City People's Committee for timely monitoring, urging implementation, and completion according to the set schedule.

Director of the Department of Construction Nguyen Ha Nam said that in order to speed up the progress of investment and construction projects in the city in general and the progress of investment preparation for drainage and flood prevention projects in particular, the Department of Construction has worked with project management boards and related units to review the contents related to the progress of implementation as well as existing problems and obstacles. At the same time, propose solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles and agree on the timelines for completing each project investment preparation procedure in order to soon start and implement drainage and flood prevention projects in the city.
