Proposal for a 1,600 billion VND solid waste incineration power plant project in Quang Tri

Reporting at the meeting, a representative of EB Energy Environmental Company Limited (Everbright Environment) said that EB Energy Environmental Company Limited is owned by China Everbright Environment Group Limited, one of the largest environmental enterprises in China and the leading group in Asia in this field.

After the process of researching, surveying and learning about investment opportunities in Quang Tri province, EverBright Environment Company proposed to build a Quang Tri solid waste incineration power plant at the Solid Waste Treatment Complex in Nam Trach commune, Quang Tri province with a total expected project area of about 11 hectares.

Permanent Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam chaired the meeting.

The plant has a capacity to receive and process 600 tons of domestic waste per day. The expected power generation capacity is 15M; using combustion technology equipment manufactured and produced by EverBright Environment Company, operating time is about 8,000 hours per year. The total estimated investment is about 1,600 billion VND. The project's goal is to treat solid waste, industrial wastewater, and wastewater from landfills for Quang Tri province.

Along with that, the Company proposed the Quang Tri Solid Waste Incineration Power Plant Project, with a processing capacity of 600 tons/day, which will contribute to completely solving the waste problem of Quang Tri province, reducing the rate of landfill waste, creating an electricity supply for the area and gradually improving the quality of the living environment.

Representative of EverBright Environment Company informed that EverBright incinerator system is a modern technology, highly mechanized and automated, the output products of the incinerator are almost fully utilized.

At the meeting, EverBright Environment Company stated that the Quang Tri Solid Waste Incineration Power Plant Project is a highly socialized project, with a safe, healthy environmental impact and high socio-economic efficiency, so the Company proposed that the leaders of Quang Tri province as well as departments and branches consider allowing research and investment in the EverBright waste incineration technology line with a capacity of 600 tons of waste/day and enjoy incentives according to state regulations.

With the proposed investment plan, EB Environmental Energy Company Limited commits to ensuring uninterrupted capital sources during the project implementation process as well as ensuring human resources, experts, and technology to meet requirements when the project comes into operation.

Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam said that in principle, the province agreed to allow the Company to research and invest in the project, but it must ensure the application of advanced technology, meeting international standards.

To optimize efficiency and protect the environment, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee requested EverBright Environment Company to research a suitable location to build a factory between the two major cities of the province to facilitate waste transportation, and to survey and select a suitable location that is not near residential areas. It is necessary to adjust the project in the direction of effectively treating input waste sources, minimizing CO2 emissions.

In addition, Vice President Hoang Nam also hopes that EverBright Environment Company will apply the most advanced technology, not only to solve the waste problem in the province but also to contribute with the whole country to move towards the goal of net zero emissions by 2050.

On the government side, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province committed to accompany and direct the settlement of administrative procedures in the most favorable way for investors and assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to be the focal point, coordinate with relevant departments and branches to guide investors in implementing the next steps, choose a suitable location to implement the project, ensure it is far from residential areas, convenient for transportation, ensure infrastructure when the project is in operation...
