In particular, over the past 10 years, the embassy has supported the repair and renovation of 43 schools with degraded infrastructure in areas at risk of frequent natural disasters in the province. The project has been highly appreciated by local authorities, schools, and communities for its practicality and effectiveness, contributing to improving teaching and learning conditions as well as ensuring safety for students, teachers, and the community during the rainy and stormy season.
At the same time, the Department of Foreign Affairs proposed that the Irish Embassy in Vietnam support 2.05 billion VND (equivalent to 70,000 EUR) to implement the project "Renovating schools to prevent natural disasters in 2025 in Quang Tri province".
Previously, the department conducted a survey, compiled and selected 4 schools for the Irish Embassy to consider and decide on support, including: Gio Viet Primary and Secondary School (Gio Linh district); Hai Que Primary and Secondary School (Hai Lang district); Hai Ba Primary and Secondary School (Hai Lang district); Thanh Co Secondary School (Quang Tri town).
