In November 2018, the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island Resort unveiled a two-story villa called Muraka (coral). The upper level of the villa is at sea level and features two bedrooms, a bathroom with a bathtub overlooking the ocean, and an outdoor terrace with an infinity pool. From here, guests can walk up a spiral staircase or take an elevator down to the bedroom, which is 5 meters below the Indian Ocean. The bedroom is located in a 180-degree transparent acrylic tunnel, giving guests the feeling of visiting an aquarium.

InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland opened in November 2018 in an abandoned quarry in southwest Shanghai. The address has attracted visitors' attention with 16 of the hotel's 18 floors located underground, extending down to nearly 92 meters below sea level.
The hotel’s two lowest floors are completely submerged, offering views of the aquarium. In addition to the Premium Rooms and Underwater View Suites, there are also Duplex Suites with living rooms overlooking the aquarium and bedrooms on the upper floors overlooking the quarry. The hotel’s main attraction is Mr. Fisher, a popular underwater seafood restaurant.
