Ho Chi Minh City University of Education's floor score differentiates between methods

Ho Chi Minh City University of Education announced the floor score and principles for converting admission scores between admission methods in 2025 at 3 training institutions.

On the evening of July 22, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education announced the threshold to ensure input quality (floor score) and the principle of converting admission scores between admission methods in regular university and college admissions.

Floor score for 6 pedagogical majors is 24 points

Based on the score distribution of the 2025 high school graduation exam, the specialized competency assessment exam and the aptitude test organized by the school, the Admissions Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education has determined the floor score of the admission methods.

The school stipulates that each training facility and method has its own floor score.

At the main campus in Ho Chi Minh City , the admission method uses the 2025 high school graduation exam results ranging from 18 to 24 points . Of which, 6 majors continue to maintain the threshold of 24 points, including mathematics pedagogy, chemistry pedagogy, literature pedagogy, history pedagogy, geography pedagogy, and English pedagogy.

For the admission method using the results of the specialized competency assessment test combined with high school academic results, the score ranges from 17 to 21 points .

In particular, the training majors that use the results of the aptitude test (including preschool education , physical education , national defense and security education ) will have admission scores ranging from 19 to 20 points (admission using a combination of the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam) and 17 to 18 points (admission using a combination of specialized competency assessment exams).

At Long An and Gia Lai branches , the admission method uses the 2025 high school graduation exam results ranging from 20 - 23 points .

For training majors that use the results of aptitude tests (including preschool education - university and college, physical education, national defense and security education), the score ranges from 17 to 20 points (for admission using the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam) and 16 to 17 points (for admission using the results of specialized competency assessment exams).

Add more conditions besides floor score, score conversion

The school notes that for candidates applying for admission using the results of the high school graduation exam combined with aptitude tests for preschool education, physical education, and national defense and security education, candidates need to ensure that their math or literature scores (according to the admission combination) reach at least 1/3 of the school's announced threshold score.

For other admission methods using the 2025 high school graduation exam results, in addition to achieving the threshold score, candidates need to satisfy the input quality assurance threshold conditions announced in the school's admission information.

Dr. Huynh Trung Phong - Director of the Center for Student Support and Startup Development of the school - commented that this year's floor scores show a reasonable differentiation between each method and each training institution, thereby helping to ensure the quality of input enrollment while still creating conditions for diverse candidates to have the opportunity to access higher education.

Regarding the point conversion scheme, both the main campus and the two branch campuses perform equivalent point conversion according to the same three-step process:

Step 1: Calculate the percentile of the score according to each method. For methods that use scores from different schools' competency assessment exams, the percentile will be calculated separately for each school.

Step 2: Convert equivalence between the original method and other methods using the percentile method.

Step 3: Convert the admission score and input threshold between the original method and the remaining methods of each industry using linear interpolation technique between the corresponding percentiles.
