In 2026, the university entrance exam schedule will be half a month earlier than last year; for the first time, the Ministry of Education and Training will set the floor score for the law group similar to the pedagogy and health groups; for the first time, the Ministry of Education and Training will require unification of criteria for assessing the capacity of higher education institutions that organize their own exams, and the Ministry will also participate in supervising the organization of these exams.

These are notable new points in the plan to implement university and college admissions in 2026, just announced by the Ministry of Education and Training.

Specifically, according to the plan, this year's enrollment work is pushed up about half a month earlier than last year. This is consistent with the High School Graduation Exam schedule this year being pushed up half a month earlier.

Specifically, educational institutions must publish enrollment information on their websites no later than February 15, 2026. Before 5:00 p.m. on June 6, 2026, educational institutions must review students' high school academic scores on the system.

For direct admission, candidates must complete their application no later than 5:00 p.m. on June 20, 2026. Schools will announce the results of the direct admission before June 30.

On July 8, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the threshold to ensure input quality for teacher training, health and law fields.

From July 2 to 14, 2026, candidates will register and adjust their admission wishes on the system. Before that, they will have 5 days to practice this, from June 17 to 21, 2026.

Before 5:00 p.m. on July 10, 2026, training institutions will adjust and announce the scores for receiving application documents and equivalent converted admission scores on the system and electronic information page of the training institution.

From July 15 to 5:00 p.m. on July 21, 2026, candidates pay admission fees online.

Before 5:00 p.m. on August 13, 2026, training institutions will announce the benchmark scores and notify the first round of successful candidates. Successful candidates who wish to enroll must confirm their enrollment online on the system no later than 5:00 p.m. on August 21, 2026.

Additional recruitment rounds will be announced from August 22, 2026.

Also according to the plan of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Education and Training will work with training institutions to organize capacity assessment exams and unify criteria for assessing the capacity of higher education institutions before the units organize the exams.
