The Dien Ngoc Heroes Monument is a project to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the resistance war against the US (including the statues of the seven Dien Ngoc heroes). The project was approved and implemented by the province in 2005, built and put into use in 2007, with a budget of 1.5 billion VND.

Up to now, the monument has degraded, especially it is no longer suitable in terms of architectural space, because many houses have been built around it.

The local government wants to dismantle the old monument and other items. Completely rebuild, the total investment for the new monument is expected to be about 88.5 billion VND, from the Dien Ban town budget. Implementation time is from 2025-2026.

Quang Nam Province Chairman Le Van Dung has requested the locality to report, explain and supplement information related to the policy of dismantling the old monument and investing in a new project, and send it to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism before August 10 for synthesis and consultation. At the same time, consider organizing to collect public opinions to gain consensus and unity in implementing the project.

Asking people's opinions is right, is it appropriate for a poor locality like Dien Ban to spend nearly 90 billion VND to build a monument at this time?
