(Chinhphu.vn) - In recent times, the Hanoi Agricultural Extension Center has affirmed its increasingly important role in supporting farmers to innovate production, improve the quality of agricultural products and connect consumption, becoming a "fulcrum" to help farmers develop modern agriculture.

Mr. Doan Duc Dan, Deputy Director of Hanoi Agricultural Extension Center, said: To help farmers develop production and consumption of agricultural products, Hanoi Agricultural Extension Center has proactively coordinated with localities in the city to organize many forums, training courses, and consulting conferences on techniques and support mechanisms for production and consumption of agricultural products. Through this, it has helped producers access new knowledge, apply scientific and technical advances to safe agricultural production, and trace the origin of products.

In Kieu Phu commune, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, emphasized: The Agricultural Extension Forum @ Farmers' Bridge program has helped people in Quoc Oai district in the past and now in Kieu Phu commune to change their production mindset, know how to cultivate in the direction of modernization, link along the value chain and adapt to climate change. This is an inevitable direction to increase product value and develop sustainable agriculture for the locality.

Kieu Phu commune was formed on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of the communes: Can Huu, Liep Nghia, Tuyet Nghia; Ngoc Liep, Ngoc My (former Quoc Oai district) and a part of Quang Trung commune (former Thach That district). Kieu Phu is a commune with favorable natural geographical conditions and land for developing high-quality agricultural economy associated with linking production and consumption of agricultural products. Immediately after establishing a 2-level government, Kieu Phu commune focused on reviewing and developing a plan to convert the crop and livestock structure in accordance with its potential, advantages and market demand, adapting to climate change.

In particular, the commune focuses on developing safe vegetable production models, aquaculture, concentrated livestock farms, biosafety, gradually forming a sustainable agricultural value chain, improving income and quality of life for people with typical products such as: organic pigs, Ngoc Thom rice, Nghia Huong safe vegetable area...). However, in recent times, the consumption of agricultural products still faces many difficulties due to small-scale production, lack of market information, and weak links between producers and consumers, leading to the situation of "good harvest, low price", directly affecting the income and life of farmers.

Building a model of agricultural production linked to the value chain and connecting agricultural product consumption is becoming a new direction, helping farmers to increase the value of their products in a sustainable way. To promote the potential, strengths and advantages of the locality, the commune is focusing on developing agriculture according to the value chain, forming concentrated specialized agricultural areas, building a chain of links in production, processing and consumption of products. Thereby creating a driving force for sustainable agricultural development, building a brand, gradually bringing agricultural products of Kieu Phu commune further and further.

In fact, many cooperatives in Kieu Phu commune have developed models of safe vegetable production, biological livestock farming, and concentrated aquaculture. Mr. Phi Van Phan, Director of Ngoc Bai Cooperative, Ngoc Liep village, shared that when participating in agricultural extension programs, we learned a lot of new knowledge, especially about safe cultivation processes, ways to promote and consume products. The cooperative was established more than 10 years ago, but thanks to the support of agricultural extension, our clean vegetables and grapefruit products have had stable output and are trusted by consumers.

According to representatives of cooperatives, most agricultural products in districts and communes of Hanoi are currently of guaranteed quality and safety, however, the output for products is still not sustainable. To overcome this, it is necessary to strengthen the connection between 4 houses: Farmers - Enterprises - Scientists - State. In which, people are the center of production, enterprises play the role of market bridge, science is the technical foundation, and the state plays the role of creating, supporting and guiding policies.

In addition, promoting and building local agricultural product brands through trade fairs, conferences, digital platforms and e-commerce platforms is also very important. Localities need to make good use of the "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) program to enhance the value and competitiveness of agricultural products, while creating conditions for cooperatives and farmers to access market information, preferential capital, land and science and technology.

According to Mr. Doan Duc Dan, in recent times, the Agricultural Extension Forum program @ linking production and consumption of agricultural products has been held regularly in many localities. The program not only aims to remove difficulties in consuming agricultural products for farmers, farm owners and cooperatives, but is also an opportunity to introduce and promote key agricultural products, typical of each region to businesses and distribution units across the country.

The forum has helped people access new knowledge, safe production techniques, and traceability practices; at the same time, it is an opportunity to share effective production models from other localities to learn from experience and improve production value.

In fact, thanks to the support of the Hanoi Agricultural Extension Center, many production-consumption linkage models have been formed and operated effectively, contributing to reducing production costs, increasing productivity, and expanding output for agricultural products in the capital. The connection between cooperatives and enterprises helps Hanoi's agricultural products increasingly meet food safety standards, and are eligible for distribution in supermarket chains and stores inside and outside the city.

Hanoi Agricultural Extension Center is playing the role of "midwife" for farmers and cooperatives in the process of transforming production structure and increasing the value of agricultural products. From technical support to market connection, from policy advice to brand promotion, agricultural extension activities. With practical, flexible and farmer-centered approaches, Hanoi Agricultural Extension continues to be an important bridge connecting "4 houses", contributing to unleashing the great potential of local agriculture, promoting rural economic development and improving the lives of farmers.
