Ho Chi Minh City's innovative startup ecosystem is considered the most dynamic in the country, ranked 2nd in the Southeast Asia startup ecosystem index in 2025 and in the top 200 emerging ecosystems globally in 2024. The value of the innovative startup ecosystem is 5.22 billion USD.
Currently, the city has more than 2,000 startups (accounting for 50% of startups nationwide), 180 active investment funds, 45 startup incubators and support centers, 97 universities and colleges. Every year, the city has more than 500 innovation events and about 80 startup competitions. Ho Chi Minh City accounts for 65% of the country's investment capital and 65% of the country's business deals in startups and innovation.
According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Hieu, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Creative Entrepreneurship, businesses need to boldly reposition their values and embark on a new journey associated with the creative, innovative and regional startup ecosystem. The Ho Chi Minh City Center for Creative Entrepreneurship is committed to not only connecting but also accompanying businesses long-term through a series of activities to support, share and develop innovation capacity.
