Tesla trains robots like child apprentices, sweaty and with back pain
Inside the Tesla lab, dozens of employees wearing nearly 20kg of equipment, repeat simple movements to teach the robot Optimus to behave like a human.

At Tesla headquarters in Los Angeles, a glass room is where the robot Optimus is trained to learn how to be human. Employees must wear tight-fitting suits, wear cameras and carry backpacks containing recording equipment weighing up to 18kg.
They perform actions like wiping the table, picking up a glass of water, and drawing the curtains hundreds of times for the robot to memorize. The work has been likened to “running a marathon in the lab” because it is intense and requires patience.
Some people experience shoulder injuries, back pain, and even numbness in their legs from wearing the device for too long. From 2025, Tesla will switch to using cameras mounted on real people so that robots can learn by observation. Although Optimus can walk and pick up things, he still needs a support wire and cannot be completely autonomous.
Elon Musk believes that Optimus will be a revolutionary product, surpassing both electric cars and solar batteries. Dear readers, please watch more videos : Breakthrough in the humanoid robot revolution | VTV24
