The Ministry of National Defense delegation inspected the National Target Program at the 72nd Defense-Economic Group.

(GLO)- A working delegation of the Ministry of National Defense led by Colonel Nguyen Van Hiep - Deputy Head of the Department of Career Economics, Department of Finance (Ministry of National Defense) recently inspected and evaluated the results of implementing the national target programs (NTPs) for the year 2024-2025 at Economic-Defense Group 72 (Army Corps 15).

Attending the meeting were Colonel Nguyen Hong Lam - Deputy Commander of Army Corps 15, Command Board of Economic - Defense Group 72, local authorities and representatives of households benefiting from the 2024-2025 National Target Program in border communes of Gia Lai province.

In the 2024-2025 period, the entire Corps has built 20 livestock and crop models with a total cost of more than 15.9 billion VND; supporting 618 households in 26 border communes of 3 provinces: Gia Lai , Quang Ngai, Quang Tri.

Along with that, the units adopted and supported 180 students in difficult circumstances, gave gifts, learning tools, and meals with a total cost of over 1.7 billion VND, helping them feel secure in studying and practicing.

The Corps also organized hundreds of propaganda sessions to disseminate laws to more than 10,000 people; compiled and published more than 10,000 propaganda documents; and opened 20 training classes on ethnic knowledge and ethnic minority languages ​​for more than 2,200 officers and employees, contributing to improving understanding of culture, customs and practices, and strengthening solidarity between the army and the people.

In particular, Vocational College No. 21 (Army Corps 15) has invested more than 36 billion VND to purchase equipment, repair facilities, improve the quality of vocational training for ethnic minority children, link vocational education with job creation, and sustainable poverty reduction.

As one of the typical units of Army Corps 15, Economic-Defense Group 72 has effectively implemented sub-projects under the national target program, suitable to the actual conditions of the Central Highlands border region.

Up to now, the unit has implemented 2 models of breeding cows, providing 33 breeding cows to 33 households in 3 communes of Ia Dom, Ia Nan and Ia Pnôn; supporting materials for building barns, instructing on breeding techniques, disease prevention, helping people have a stable livelihood.

At the same time, the Delegation continued to maintain the program "Army officers and soldiers help children go to school", adopting and supporting 33 students who are children of ethnic minorities in difficult circumstances with a total cost of over 220 million VND.

The unit also organized many activities to propagate and popularize the law, honoring 18 prestigious people, contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc, building a solid people's hearts and minds at the border.

At the inspection, representatives of Ia Pnôn commune government highly appreciated the effective coordination of Economic-Defense Group 72 in implementing projects. Thanks to that, many poor households in the commune have had stable livelihoods; many civil works have been repaired and upgraded; the appearance of the border countryside is increasingly improving.

Highly appreciating the results of implementing national target programs at Army Corps 15, Colonel Nguyen Van Hiep praised the unit's proactive and creative spirit in implementing models suitable to reality, linking economic development with national defense and security tasks.

Colonel Nguyen Van Hiep requested the unit to continue to strengthen propaganda work, promote the role of prestigious people in the community; at the same time, coordinate with local authorities to overcome difficulties in mechanisms and policies, ensuring that investment resources are used effectively and for the right purposes.

On this occasion, the Ministry of National Defense delegation visited and gave gifts to families in difficult circumstances in the area.
