Gia Lai: Border guards soak in water to help people harvest rice

(GLO)- On October 30, Cat Khanh Border Guard Station sent forces to support people in Thang Kien village (De Gi commune) to harvest ripe rice, avoiding damage caused by heavy rain and flooding.

With the motto "Wherever people need and are in difficulty, there are soldiers", from early morning, 10 officers and soldiers of Cat Khanh Border Guard Station went to the fields, wading in the water to help people harvest rice, giving priority to helping single-parent households.

Each officer and soldier had a job: some cut rice, some bundled rice, some held rice, some pushed rice to the shore... By the afternoon of October 30, the officers and soldiers had helped people harvest 8 sao of rice.

Faced with complicated weather developments, Cat Khanh Border Guard Station continues to monitor the situation, propagate and mobilize people to implement measures to prevent and combat natural disasters; coordinate with local authorities in the management area to proactively handle natural disaster situations when they occur.
