Ninh Binh province delegation successfully completed working program in India and Bhutan

During the program, the delegation attended the 46th Annual Session of the World Heritage Committee, under the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), held in New Delhi, India. This session was attended by the Prime Minister of India, the Director General of UNESCO and more than 2,000 delegates from more than 150 countries around the world, including leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and representatives of provinces and cities with World Heritage sites in Vietnam.

The provincial delegation met with experts and scientists from UNESCO's consulting agencies to grasp the policies, viewpoints and solutions for preserving and promoting heritage values ​​in the new situation, grasp initiatives and experiences in heritage management and conservation from the practice of managing World Heritage on a global scale; seek advice from UNESCO experts on World Heritage management; propagate, promote and introduce the outstanding global values ​​of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex to international experts, scientists, managers and tourists.

Next, the Delegation had working sessions with the Vietnamese Embassy in India and the Indian Ministry of Tourism. During the working session with the Vietnamese Embassy in India, Comrade Nguyen Thanh Hai, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Republic of India, concurrently serving as Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bhutan, hosted and worked with the Delegation.

At the meeting, the two sides exchanged and shared information on the potential, strengths, and competitive advantages of Ninh Binh province; the situation of Vietnam-India cooperation; information on some localities of India with potential to promote cooperation with Ninh Binh province, focusing on the following areas: tourism, start-ups and innovation, development of cultural industries, preservation and promotion of heritage values. The provincial leaders and the Ambassador agreed to strengthen coordination and information sharing, contributing to the implementation of the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, diversification, and development of a prosperous and happy country.

During the working session with the Indian Ministry of Tourism, Comrade Pham Quang Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, discussed and shared information about Ninh Binh province, emphasizing the outstanding features and competitive advantages of Ninh Binh tourism, the characteristics of Ninh Binh that are suitable and attractive to Indian tourists and investors; the delegates also focused on watching promotional videos introducing Ninh Binh province and Ninh Binh tourism.

The two sides exchanged, discussed and shared experiences in state management of tourism, suggested solutions to promote coordination, promote tourism development, ensure harmony of interests between the parties, and strengthen coordination to contribute to promoting the strategic partnership between Vietnam and India.

During the program, the delegation worked with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Mumbai; a number of prestigious directors and large tourism enterprises of India. At the meeting, Comrade Pham Quang Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee informed about the natural, economic and social characteristics, emphasizing the outstanding characteristics of the province in terms of historical traditions, culture, natural landscapes; outstanding results in attracting tourists, major tourism websites ranked Ninh Binh as one of the top destinations for friendliness and attractiveness... Comrade Le Quang Bien, Consul General of Vietnam in India, gave an overview of the political, economic and social situation of Vietnam, the outstanding features of Ninh Binh province compared to other localities of Vietnam...

At the meeting, Comrade Pham Quang Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Comrade Tran Song Tung, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and members of the delegation exchanged, shared and provided information, answered questions, concerns and suggestions from Indian travel businesses on developing the Ninh Binh tourism market such as: Organizing a delegation to survey the tourism market to Ninh Binh; English proficiency of tour guides; vegetarian food for Indian tourists; information and promotion of Ninh Binh's image to India, conditions and support of Ninh Binh province for film crews.

The leaders of Ninh Binh province and partners agreed to assign the units to act as focal points to soon organize activities to directly survey the tourism market and actual conditions for filming, promoting Indian tourists to Ninh Binh; soon have Indian films filmed in Ninh Binh, thereby contributing to promoting the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and India.

Next, the Delegation had working sessions with the Indian Tourism Federation and the Indian Tourism Association.

The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) was established in 1951, four years after India’s independence. Today, TAAI is India’s premier, largest and oldest travel and tourism association. TAAI has a large membership base engaged in various sectors of the tourism industry, including: Airline ticketing; outbound travel; domestic travel; domestic travel; convention travel; sports travel. The Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) is a professional body established in 1986 to represent travel agents and coordinate various segments of the tourism industry.

At the working sessions, the provincial delegation exchanged and shared information to promote and boost provincial tourism, attracting Indian tourists; delegates watched video clips introducing Ninh Binh province. The parties exchanged experiences in building and developing tourism, especially issues related to cuisine, communication through newspapers, social networks, films filmed in Ninh Binh ...; agreed to assign agencies to act as focal points to promote specific coordination activities. The Indian Tourism Federation will soon organize research and field surveys to organize the Annual Conference.   2024 in Ninh Binh.

* Working with the General Department of Tourism, under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Labor of Bhutan, comrade Pham Quang Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, exchanged and shared information about Ninh Binh province and Ninh Binh tourism; emphasized the outstanding characteristics of Ninh Binh, the similarities and mutual support in tourism development between Vietnam and Bhutan, the green and sustainable development perspective of Ninh Binh province...

The two sides exchanged experiences in sustainable tourism development; learned about the management and development mechanism of tourism in parallel with environmental protection, conservation of heritage, historical and cultural relics. Surveyed the actual conservation of cultural and religious relics at Paro Taktsan Monastery.

Also during the working program in India and Bhutan, the delegation conducted a field survey at Bollywood Film Studios, learning experiences in construction, management, operation and development of film studios. Field survey on organization, management, operation, tourist attraction, tourism development associated with heritage conservation at some cultural and spiritual tourism destinations in India and Bhutan.

Although the time was short and there was a lot of traveling, the provincial delegation in India and Bhutan successfully completed the work program, achieving the set goals and requirements, with careful preparation of content and appropriate and scientific schedule.

Through the activities of the Delegation, it has strongly promoted the promotion of the potential, strengths, competitive advantages, historical traditions, culture, and tourism of Ninh Binh to managers, businesses, and tourists from India and Bhutan; contributed to strengthening the foundation, establishing contact points, creating a basis for promoting tourism development coordination activities between Ninh Binh and partners, initially unifying a number of specific activities in the actual survey of establishing tours, tourist routes, and filmmaking in Ninh Binh. At the same time, it has contributed to raising awareness, vision, and working capacity for members participating in the Delegation.
