Thai Nguyen province delegation works with the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany

Receiving and working with the delegation were Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam Vu Quang Minh and senior officials of the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany. Also attending the meeting were Comrade Do Duc Cong, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Comrade Le Quang Tien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of a number of departments, branches, sectors and localities of the province.

At the beginning of the working session, Comrade Pham Hoang Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, briefly informed about the socio -economic development results of Thai Nguyen, emphasizing that the export value and FDI attraction are among the top in the country, have balanced their own budget revenue and expenditure and contributed 4% to the central budget. The PAPI, PAR index and SIPAS are among the top in the country. Thai Nguyen's import-export turnover in 2023 to the German market reached nearly 1 billion USD, of which exports reached over 804 million USD. The main import-export items are phones, tablets, garment products, components, electronic equipment for phone production, components and supplies for solar panel production, garment materials and supplies, etc.

The foreign trade turnover between Thai Nguyen and German enterprises is positive, but not yet commensurate with the development potential of Thai Nguyen province. The demand for textile and garment export, handicraft export, agricultural products of Thai Nguyen enterprises to the German market is large. Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Pham Hoang Son hopes that Ambassador Vu Quang Minh and the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany will be a bridge, continuing to support Thai Nguyen to strengthen cooperation with German localities and enterprises, especially German enterprises coming to explore investment opportunities in Thai Nguyen. Thai Nguyen province strongly commits to creating all conditions and the fastest and most favorable administrative procedures according to regulations to accompany foreign enterprises and investors, including German enterprises. Along with that, through the nearly 70% increase in Vietnam's tea exports to Germany in recent times from information from the Embassy, Mr. Pham Hoang Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, proposed that the Embassy connect Thai Nguyen to continue bringing tea products to the German market.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam Vu Quang Minh expressed his pleasure to welcome the delegation of Thai Nguyen province to visit and work at the Embassy. The Ambassador congratulated and highly appreciated the socio-economic development achievements of Thai Nguyen in recent years as well as the attention and focus on promoting investment promotion and foreign affairs of the provincial leaders.

Identifying the task of supporting localities as a key task, the Embassy is ready to support Thai Nguyen province in connecting and promoting the locality to German partners. According to Ambassador Vu Quang Minh, Thai Nguyen is rising to become an attractive destination for FDI investors and is taking the right direction, focusing on innovation and green development - a trend of the world and Germany has strengths. Currently, Germany is Vietnam's largest trading partner in Europe and is the 18th largest investor out of 143 countries and territories investing in Vietnam. Ambassador Vu Quang Minh proposed that Thai Nguyen call for investment in the fields of heavy industry, energy, chips, and semiconductors - which are the strengths of German enterprises. The Ambassador proposed that Thai Nguyen province choose to form a twin relationship with a locality of Germany to enhance diplomatic exchanges, economic development, etc.
