The monitoring delegation also included National Assembly deputies of Lam Dong province, leaders of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Provincial People's Council Committees, along with leaders of the People's Committee and People's Council of Da Lat city, representatives of relevant departments and Ward 2 People's Committee.
Before the official working session, the monitoring delegation visited the household waste classification model in Ward 2 residential area and the small-scale model of "collecting beer cans for gifts" of students at Nguyen Du Secondary School, Da Lat City. Ward 2 has successfully implemented the model of collecting and classifying waste at the source, suitable for the characteristics of each region, while carrying out propaganda work to raise public awareness about environmental protection and limiting the use of plastic and nylon bags that are difficult to decompose.

After listening to the representative of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Da Lat City report on the results of implementing environmental protection policies, the monitoring delegation noted many positive results. Specifically, the rate of collection and treatment of domestic waste in the city has reached over 99%. Hazardous medical waste and waste generated from agricultural activities, especially pesticide packaging, are all collected and treated in accordance with regulations. Domestic wastewater has been partially collected (about 18.6%) and connected to the city's centralized wastewater treatment system.

Propaganda work on environmental protection and climate change has also been effectively carried out, with many programs to raise public awareness, especially organizing public hygiene campaigns andeducating the community on natural resource protection. The city also maintains regular inspections of soil, water and air quality to monitor pollution, promptly warn and handle arising environmental problems.
In the field of tourism, Da Lat City has proactively linked tourism development with environmental protection, requiring tourist areas to do a good job of protecting the environment and organizing nature protection activities such as planting trees, collecting garbage and developing plans for forest fire prevention and fighting.
However, in the report, the representative of the City Department of Agriculture and Environment also pointed out some shortcomings, especially the difficulties in implementing the Law on Environmental Protection 2020. Although there are guiding documents, the implementation of these regulations still faces many obstacles, especially in granting environmental licenses to production and business establishments. In addition, the incomplete state of waste collection and treatment systems, especially the wastewater collection system, still causes environmental pollution in settling ponds and surface water areas of the city.

Representatives of functional departments and the City People's Committee took note and further explained the issues raised by the delegation, especially regarding the control of water pollution and wastewater collection.

In particular, Da Lat city has directed the implementation of measures to overcome pollution in settling ponds, such as garbage collection, sanitation and the use of aquatic solutions. During the period of 2022-2024, the review and propaganda work has helped the majority of households in the Doi Co lake basin to connect wastewater to the city's centralized wastewater treatment system.

In addition, Da Lat city also carries out many environmental protection propaganda activities such as the Green Sunday movement, voluntary trash collection campaigns around Xuan Huong Lake, Lam Vien Square, and environmental education activities for students through the garbage classification model at schools.
