Organized by Trade Estonia under Enterprise Estonia, in collaboration with the Estonian Embassy in China (also in Vietnam), this business trip to Vietnam aims to enhance Estonia's international competitiveness, promote business development and seek cooperation opportunities between the two countries' information technology industries.

The delegation was led by Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia to Vietnam Hannes Hanso, together with representatives from Estonian ICT companies, Trade Estonia, Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

At the information exchange event about the visit on the afternoon of November 5, Ambassador Hannes Hanso shared: “Estonia is known to the world as a digital country, where 99% of public services are provided online to citizens and the government has been paperless for over 15 years. This achievement is thanks to close cooperation with advanced domestic technology companies, which are now providing services across continents."

Ambassador Hannes Hanso expressed his pleasure to be in Vietnam with a delegation of leading Estonian IT companies interested in cooperation with the Government and private sector of Vietnam.

"I hope that this visit will benefit both Vietnam and Estonia through sharing experiences and building relationships in new areas," Ambassador Hannes Hanso emphasized.

The Estonian delegation will have meetings with representatives of the Vietnamese Government, the National Innovation Center (NIC), the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham) and the Central and Eastern European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (CEEC).

In addition, the delegation will also visit leading universities and IT corporations in Vietnam such as Vietnam National University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, FPT Telecom, GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM, Savvycom, TMA Solutions... Special business networking events in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will bring together stakeholders, organizations and industry leaders from both countries.

Estonian companies coming to Vietnam this time bring with them rich experience in many fields to promote innovation and efficiency in technology including: DreamApply (record management software for educational institutions), Finbite (fintech company providing easy-to-use financial management and invoicing tools), Wisercat Software (IT consulting and software development, providing multi-sector digital transformation services), Ampron (smart LED and LCD electronic boards for traffic solutions) and AdoptoMedia (hybrid artificial intelligence solution for revenue forecasting and budget optimization).

Estonia is recognized as one of the most digitally advanced countries in the world, pioneering the creation of a digital society and setting global standards. The country’s ICT companies are ready to share knowledge with Vietnam and explore cooperation opportunities.

Estonia’s digital business and governance ecosystem offers a unique and scalable model to drive global growth and innovation, aligned with Vietnam’s ambitious digital transformation efforts.

Previous Estonian business delegations in sectors such as agriculture, F&B, and ICT have laid the foundation for strong bilateral cooperation with Vietnam. In 2023, Estonia’s exports to Vietnam reached 9.64 million Euros, while imports from Vietnam reached 42 million Euros, with key products including wood, pulp materials, and organic chemicals. It can be seen that the growth potential in trade and cooperation is still very large.

As Vietnam continues its digital journey and both countries move towards digitalization goals, the visit marks an important opportunity to explore the similarities between the two technology ecosystems. With Estonia’s experience in building world-class digital infrastructure and Vietnam’s growing technological development, the visit opens the door to future-oriented collaborations to drive innovation across multiple industries.

Estonia’s digital journey began in the early 1990s when the country made a strategic choice to prioritize digital innovation to ensure sustainable growth. Estonian ICT companies have since made a significant contribution to the country’s transformation, building modern online services that allow 99% of public services to be accessed online.

Close cooperation between the Government and the private sector has made Estonia a global leader in digital solutions, with the highest number of unicorn startups per capita, globally renowned names such as Skype, Wise and Bolt. Estonia is now ranked 10th in the world for ICT services exports, with 51% of its revenue coming from international customers.
