Enterprises of Dak Lak province and Kerala state of India signed a cooperation agreement in the field of tourism.

On the afternoon of June 3, in Buon Ma Thuot City, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak Province coordinated with the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City to organize a tourism promotion meeting between businesses of Kerala State (India) and businesses operating in the tourism sector of Dak Lak Province. This is an activity to promote bilateral cooperation and promote and stimulate tourism in Dak Lak Province this summer.

Attending the program were Mr. Madan Mohan Sethi - Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Nguyen Thien Van - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of Departments, branches and enterprises of Dak Lak province and Kerala state (India).

At the program, Dak Lak provincial leaders informed about the potential and strengths of local tourism development. Notable among them were elephant-friendly tours, adventure tours; Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, community-based tourism to experience the culture of local ethnic groups, and proposed tourism programs connecting with businesses in Kerala state (India) in the coming time.

Travel agencies of Kerala state (India) introduced the tourism potential of Kerala state, tourism products with strengths to connect with businesses in Dak Lak province; proposed methods to promote hotel services through the network of tourism entrepreneurs in Kerala and Dak Lak.

In his welcoming speech, Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thien Van said that with the strength of agricultural production along with the existing potential and advantages of tourism, Dak Lak province has built many tourism products to form tours and tourist routes to serve international tourists in general and Indian tourists in particular.

In order to develop tourism commensurate with the potential and existing advantages of Dak Lak province in the coming time, we wish to connect Dak Lak province's tourism companies with Kerala state's travel businesses to build and introduce traditional cultural experience tourism programs, community tourism, organic coffee farms between the two localities; promote and advertise tourism images between the two localities to attract Indian tourists to Dak Lak province and vice versa. At the same time, we will pay attention to supporting and creating conditions for Indian investors and tourism businesses to come to learn, invest, and organize eco-tourism, agricultural, community, and resort tours in Dak Lak. After this meeting, Dak Lak province requested that tourism businesses of Kerala state and India continue to contribute ideas so that Dak Lak tourism can be increasingly improved and suitable for the Indian tourist market.

Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City Madan Mohan Sethi said: Kerala is an important state of India, with a very high proportion of people living and working abroad. This place has many similarities with Vietnam in terms of political institutions and natural landscape.

During this working trip, businesses from Kerala state (India) had the opportunity to meet, promote tourism and sign cooperation agreements in Dak Lak and some provinces and cities in Vietnam. Thereby, continuing to build a tourism connection program, creating sustainable steps in the cooperative relationship between the two countries in general, and between Kerala state and provinces and cities of Vietnam in particular.

On this occasion, businesses from both sides signed 11 memorandums of understanding on cooperation in the fields of travel and accommodation.
