Conference to summarize the program "Accompanying women in the border areas" for the period 2021

On the morning of May 23, 2025, at the Community Learning Center of Thuong Lac Commune, Hong Ngu District, the Women's Union of Dong Thap Province coordinated with the Provincial Border Guard Command to organize a conference to summarize the Program "Accompanying women in border areas" for the period 2021 - 2025.

Attending the conference were comrade Doan Quoc Cuong, former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrade Dinh Van Dung, Standing Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; comrade Vo Thi Bach Yen, Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, Provincial Party Committee Member, Chairman of the Binh Duong Provincial Women's Union.

After 5 years of implementation, the program has achieved practical results, not only mobilizing social resources to support and motivate women in border areas to rise up and improve their quality of life, the program also demonstrates the military-civilian relationship and contributes to enhancing the role and responsibility of women in border areas in participating in protecting national border security and sovereignty . The Women's Unions at all levels proactively coordinate with sectors, integrate communication activities to raise awareness, seek support and attention from the Vietnam Women's Union, the Women's Unions of Hau Giang, Bac Lieu, Binh Duong provinces, Women's Armed Forces of Military Region 9, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the Province, the Provincial Border Guard Command, districts and cities in the Province, benefactors... The total amount of money and gifts mobilized by the Program is over 20 billion VND, of which nearly 17 billion VND comes from non-refundable support sources for social security activities, notably: Giving shelters of love, border shelters, Trade Union shelters, gifts to members, poor women, women in difficult circumstances, women with disabilities, orphans, children with disabilities; visiting and wishing Vietnamese Heroic Mothers a Happy New Year..., livelihood models, scholarships, printers, computers, solar lights, medical examinations, planting trees on new rural roads; construction of the project "Lighting up the border",...

Many activities, programs typical of the border area, models, and good practices have been maintained and effectively promoted such as: "Border Spring - Loving Tet" program, "Border Spring - Warming the hearts of the villagers", a series of activities "Border Festival for All People" every year, "Rice Jar of Love", "Helping Children Go to School", "Adopted Children of Border Guard Station", "Women's Union Members Participate in Self-Management Groups for Border Roads and National Border Markers", "House of Love" model, "Trash Cans for Poverty", "Border Guard Station Party Members in Charge of Households", "Border Classes", "Border Loudspeaker Sound"; Effectively implementing the "Border Bamboo Fence" project, the "Lighting Up the Border" program; Programs such as “Spring Tree for Soldiers”, “Godmother”, “Millions of Gifts to Share Love”... Through models and programs, timely support for families in difficult circumstances to have more conditions for economic development, helping poor students overcome difficulties to study well and have more motivation to continue going to school, contributing to the implementation of social security work, sustainable poverty reduction in border communes, promoting the spirit of mutual love, solidarity and sharing in the community.

On this occasion, 15 collectives and 30 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Women's Union, and Certificates of Merit by the Border Guard Command of Dong Thap province.
