Spain travel to Ullevaal Stadium (Olso, Norway) in a match that is considered the final of the group. Erling Haaland and his Norwegian teammates must win if they want to qualify for Germany next year.

Despite playing away from home, Spain still pushed their attack high after the opening whistle. Norway barely had the ball to play with as La Furia Roja completely controlled the ball thanks to their flexible midfield.

In the 19th minute, Alvaro Morata put the ball into the Norwegian net but after consulting the video assistant referee (VAR), the referee refused. In the following period, Spain continued to have the upper hand, while Norway only knew how to defend.

On a day when the Nordic representative could not maintain control in the midfield, the two stars Haaland and Martin Odegaard were completely missing. Norway maintained a 0-0 draw in the first half and they continued to be pressured in the second half.

Spain's pressure was materialized in the 49th minute, after a chaotic situation in the penalty area, Gavi quickly kicked the ball into the Norwegian net to open the score for Spain.

Under pressure to equalize, Norway could not attack because Spain had too much possession. The home team only had 33% possession, had only 5 shots, all of which were off target. In the end, Spain beat Norway 1-0.

This result helps Spain and Scotland secure two tickets from Group A to EURO 2024, with 15 points each and two matches left to play. Norway has only 10 points and only one match left to play, giving up hope of taking the top two spots in the group.

Norway is now hoping to qualify for the UEFA Nations League to Germany. According to UEFA rules, the top two teams from the 10 qualifying groups (20 teams in total) will qualify for the tournament along with host Germany. The remaining three spots are reserved for the top three teams in each UEFA Nations League division.
