Provincial Party Secretary works with Hoa Lu University

On the morning of August 11, comrade Doan Minh Huan, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, had a working session with Hoa Lu University on the current status of training, scientific research, basic construction investment and the orientation and development strategy of the school in the coming time.

Also attending were Comrade Tong Quang Thin, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of relevant departments, branches, units, localities and Chairman of the Council, Board of Directors, representatives of units under Hoa Lu University.

Before the working session, Provincial Party Secretary Doan Minh Huan and members of the working delegation surveyed the Hoa Lu University construction project.

Accordingly, to ensure the standards of facilities, meet the national standards for higher education institutions, and at the same time meet the objectives of the Hoa Lu University Development Planning Project for the period 2021-2025 and orientation to 2030, the Provincial People's Committee has approved the adjustment and supplementation of the Hoa Lu University construction project with an area of 17.3 hectares; the total investment is over 700 billion VND and strives to complete by 2025. Currently, the project has implemented the following items: leveling the ground, building surrounding walls, internal roads, headquarters building, lecture halls, libraries, etc.

The Hoa Lu University construction project is one of 16 key projects identified by the province as needing focused leadership and direction during this term.

The Provincial Party Secretary and the delegation also inspected the facilities of Hoa Lu University and listened to the school leaders report on the situation and results of the school's construction and development.

Currently, Hoa Lu University has 257 staff, with 17 faculties, departments, divisions, and affiliated centers. The school provides multi-disciplinary training with regular, interdisciplinary, and work-study programs. The school is currently training 15 undergraduate majors, enrolling about 700 students each year, and simultaneously accepting and training 10 Laotian international students under the Cooperation Program between Ninh Binh and U-Dom-Xay provinces.

The school's scientific research activities are focused on three areas: basic science, educational science and applied-deployed technology and science. In recent years, there have been more than 200 scientific topics at all levels of lecturers and students; many scientific articles have been published in prestigious national and international scientific journals. The existing infrastructure and equipment system basically meets the conditions for the school to effectively organize educational and training activities.

At the working session, Provincial Party Secretary Doan Minh Huan suggested a number of issues related to the current status of training, scientific research, investment in basic construction; development orientation of Hoa Lu University in the coming time, for members of the working delegation and delegates of Hoa Lu University to discuss and exchange.

Specific contents include: Difficulties and obstacles in current recruitment, training, and facilities; considering training in science and social sciences, with a view to implementing some more technical majors, according to social needs to serve the province's human resources; closely linking with some other universities to train some strong majors such as Pedagogy, Tourism; assigning training quotas for Pedagogy majors to the school...

Along with that, scientific research work needs to be expanded in other fields such as technology; focus on surveying output, the number of graduates who find jobs in the right field or profession to continue training, expand scale, meet market requirements; have a support policy to train some new fields other than Pedagogy to attract students to study; pay attention to arranging teachers and increasing enrollment scale for Trang An Pedagogical Practice High School; the construction of general goals, specific goals and implementation solutions must be close to reality, social needs for training to be implemented in the coming time...

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Doan Minh Huan acknowledged and expressed his joy and excitement at the development of Hoa Lu University after nearly 30 years of establishment and development from Ninh Binh Pedagogical College. Especially the efforts of the Board of Directors, staff and lecturers have been creating a solid foundation for the next stages.

Sharing the current difficulties and challenges, the Provincial Party Secretary suggested that schools must identify and resolve the current contradictions between maintaining and promoting traditional professions and developing and expanding new professions; between traditional teaching and the requirements of learners and market needs, in which learners are the center, schools are the foundation, teachers are the driving force; between traditional governance models and governance according to market mechanisms...

Regarding the strategic development orientation of the School in the coming time, the Provincial Party Secretary also suggested a number of issues, noting that the school needs to pay special attention to market principles in training, individualize training and learning plans for teachers and learners; and pay attention to new majors to build the school's brand.

At the same time, expand links with businesses during the training process to increase practical ability and output for students. Pay attention to innovating teaching methods, scientific research; governance models; promote annual dialogue between schools, businesses, government and society, gradually affirming the prestige and brand of Hoa Lu University in the region and the whole country.

Acknowledging the recommendations and proposals of Hoa Lu University, the Provincial Party Secretary assigned the Provincial Party Committee Office to synthesize and report to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee for research and consideration to direct solutions and solutions, ensuring compliance with regulations. At the same time, he hoped that the school would continue to promote the achieved results, strive to overcome difficulties, unite and be creative in completing assigned tasks, worthy of the University's mission of training high-quality human resources, with an advanced management model, contributing to the socio-economic development of Ninh Binh province, the Red River Delta region and the country.
