Comrade Lu Quang Ngoi was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province.

On the morning of November 17, at the 5th session (special session), the 10th Provincial People's Council, term 2021 - 2026, the Provincial People's Council delegates unanimously elected comrade Lu Quang Ngoi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, term 2021 - 2026. Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai attended and delivered a speech directing the session.

Speaking at the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai emphasized: The arrangement of key cadres who are not local people is to create a new training environment, helping cadres promote their capacity, courage, leadership thinking and meet the development requirements in the new period. Therefore, he requested the Provincial People's Council to promote a sense of responsibility, select personnel based on standards, objectivity and meet the requirements of the province's tasks.

Accordingly, the Session considered dismissing comrade Pham Thanh Ngai from the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term, due to being transferred to the position of Deputy Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, for the 2025-2030 term.

Delegates present at the Session unanimously elected comrade Lu Quang Ngoi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province for the 2021 - 2026 term (100% of votes).

Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Pham Van Thieu and Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Council voted to elect the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee at the Session.

In his closing speech at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Pham Van Thieu emphasized: The Provincial People's Council believes that the new Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lu Quang Ngoi will continue to promote his qualities, capacity, and experience, making positive contributions to the rapid and sustainable development of the province; at the same time, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Pham Van Thieu acknowledged the important contributions of comrade Pham Thanh Ngai in the past time and wished him to successfully complete his tasks in his new position.

Provincial People's Council delegates voted to pass the Resolution at the Session.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Pham Van Thieu requested the Provincial People's Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council and all levels and sectors to focus on drastically implementing tasks in the last months of 2025; carefully prepare the content of the year-end session and proactively carry out work serving the election of the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term. The Provincial People's Council called on all forces, the business community and the People to continue to unite, innovate and be creative to complete the province's development goals.
