Coffee price forecast tomorrow 5/17/2025 - sideways market.

Recorded on May 16, the world and domestic coffee markets fluctuated up and down within a narrow range.

In particular, the Arabica coffee market recovered strongly in the latest session, thanks to speculative buying and expectations that adverse weather in Brazil will affect supply. Robusta prices adjusted slightly after the increase at the beginning of the week, due to profit-taking and technical pressure.

In the domestic market, coffee prices today remained unchanged due to cautious sentiment waiting for clearer signals from the world market. However, the general trend is still strong and unpredictable fluctuations, depending largely on weather developments and consumption demand at the end of the second quarter.

According to experts, coffee prices fluctuate continuously according to the movements of the USD. At the beginning of the week, positive news from the US-China trade negotiations increased the USD, causing coffee prices to fall sharply. Then on Wednesday, the CPI index decreased slightly, weakening the USD, pushing coffee prices higher. After the US and China agreed to reduce tariffs for 90 days, the USD increased, causing coffee prices to fall sharply again.

Coffee market expert Nguyen Quang Binh commented: Recent signals show that the hot cycle of coffee prices may have ended. The main reason comes from the latest forecasts showing that Brazil has a good harvest, especially the supply of Robusta is increasing strongly, and may even surpass Vietnam in output in the near future. Not to mention, Brazil's coffee production costs are also lower, creating a great competitive advantage.
