Predicted benchmark scores for grade 10 admission in Hanoi in 2024
This afternoon (June 29), the Hanoi Department of Education and Training announced the 3-subject entrance exam scores for grade 10 in 2024 for candidates in three subjects: Math, Literature, and English. How will the predicted standard scores for grade 10 in Hanoi in 2024 change compared to previous years?
Mr. Mai Tri Trung, a Literature teacher in Hanoi, said that the average score range for this year's exam is expected to range from 6.5 to 7.25 points or from 6.5 to 7 points. This year's Literature score has not changed much compared to previous years because this year's exam requires candidates to not memorize but to systematize their knowledge completely.
Ms. Bui Thi Phuong Dung, a teacher at Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi, predicts that the 10th grade entrance exam score will be lower than or equal to last year.

Referring to the remaining exam questions and following the evaluation of colleagues, Mr. Tran Manh Tung, a Math teacher in Hanoi, said that this year's score distribution and benchmark scores will not have many fluctuations, similar to last year: The average score distribution is about 7 points. Average students can get 5-7 points, good students get 7-8 points, excellent students get 8-9 points. This year there will also be many 9 points because the exam has no surprise elements.
Ms. Hoang Tu Uyen, an English teacher in Hanoi, said that the English exam scores could decrease by about 0.5-1 point compared to last year.
Dr. Do Viet Tuan, a teacher with many years of experience in preparing for the 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi, also commented that in general, the exam questions for all three subjects of Math, Literature, and Foreign Language this year have a much clearer differentiation than last year. It is predicted that the benchmark scores of schools may decrease by 1-1.5 points compared to last year.
