Latest prediction of 10th grade entrance scores in Vinh Phuc in 2024 from the Department of Education and Training

On the morning of June 11, speaking with Dan Viet Newspaper reporter, Mr. Trinh Van Mung, Head of Examination and Quality Management Department, Vinh Phuc Department of Education and Training, said: "The 10th grade high school entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year will take place from June 1 to 3. Candidates applying to public high schools must take a written exam in 3 compulsory subjects: Math, Literature, and English".

Regarding the predicted entrance exam scores for grade 10 in Vinh Phuc in 2024, Mr. Mung shared: " Immediately after the candidates completed the exam, the Department of Education and Training organized the exam marking. Today (June 11), the exam will be combined. On the morning of June 12, after the combination is completed, the exam scores will be announced according to the previous plan.

Sharing about the schedule for announcing the benchmark scores for grade 10 in 2024 in Vinh Phuc, according to Mr. Mung: "After the exam scores are available, it is expected that the floor scores of each school will be available after 2-3 days and the benchmark scores are expected to be announced on June 18. The benchmark scores and the announcement time will depend on the schools."

Regarding candidates' concerns about the benchmark scores for grade 10 admission in Vinh Phuc in 2024, the Head of the Examination and Quality Management Department, Vinh Phuc Department of Education and Training stated: "After the test scores are available, we can predict this year's benchmark scores compared to previous years, but we cannot evaluate based on the difficulty or ease of the test. However, this year's test is assessed to have good classification, selecting high-quality students for schools, especially key schools."

Take 3 subjects instead of 5 subjects

The Head of the Examination and Quality Management Department, Vinh Phuc Department of Education and Training added: "This year, candidates only have to take 3 subjects including: Math, Literature, English corresponding to 3 exams, instead of 5 subjects like previous years. This is one of many solutions to reduce the load, reduce the pressure of studying and taking exams for students. This year, the exam is stable because it is the last year of implementing the 2006 generaleducation program. The difficulty of the exam is the same as previous years, however, this year, the Combination exam is replaced by an English exam, so the exam structure has changed. Specialized schools have added a practical IT exam class because last year they only took the Math exam."

According to Mr. Mung, this year candidates have 9 days to choose to register online for grade 10, so those with the ability still enter schools such as Tran Phu High School, Yen Lac High School, Le Xoay High School... Schools with lower quality have higher competition rates due to the large streaming rate in Vinh Phuc, students are afraid of failing so they register a lot in schools such as Nguyen Duy Thi High School, Vo Thi Sau High School...

In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the Department assigned a total enrollment target of 314 10th grade classes with 12,731 students, a decrease of 3 classes corresponding to 103 students compared to the 2023 - 2024 school year.
