Accordingly, Vietnam Railways Corporation plans to welcome about 13,000 passengers to and from Hue station, of which the Hue - Da Nang Central Heritage Connection tourist train route alone has about 3,500 passengers registered to travel during the September 2 holiday; on August 31 and September 2, the trains on this route were full of passengers.
From August 28 to September 3, Phu Bai International Airport also plans to welcome 330 incoming and outgoing flights, transporting about 59,400 passengers.
Notably, according to the leader of the Thua Thien Hue Department of Tourism, during the National Day holiday on September 2 this year (from August 30 to September 3), the total number of tourists to Thua Thien Hue is forecast to reach 120,000 (an increase of 22.4% compared to the same holiday on September 2, 2023), revenue from tourism services is estimated at 132 billion VND.
The number of visitors to Hue and passing through Phu Bai International Airport will also increase during the September 2 holiday.
The number of guests staying is forecast to reach 48,000 (an increase of 31.3% compared to the September 2, 2023 holiday), including about 16,500 international guests (an increase of 54.3% compared to the September 2, 2023 holiday).
The average room occupancy rate of hotels reached about 64%, of which on August 31 and September 1, the room occupancy rate of many accommodation establishments reached over 80%.
"Most of the hotels in the center of Hue city, coastal resorts, lagoons and waterfalls, and homestays in Hue city, Phu Loc district and A Luoi district are almost fully booked for these two days," said Mr. Phuc.

Director of Thua Thien Hue Department of Tourism Nguyen Van Phuc also said that the trend of tourists during this holiday is to travel in family groups by private car and train, with the need to rest and experience exploring local culture and nature.
Vietnamese tourists and locals will also be exempted from tickets when visiting relic sites in the Hue Monuments Complex on September 2, 2024.
