The first Autumn Fair in 2025 - a large-scale commercial and cultural event held for the first time at the Vietnam Exhibition Center (Dong Anh, Hanoi ) is attracting tens of thousands of visitors every day.

In a space of more than 130,000 m² with hundreds of display booths, the "Quintessence of Vietnamese Culture" area stands out as a special stop, where visitors can fully experience the beauty of national culture amidst the modern pace of life.

Right from the entrance, the bustling sound of festival drums, the traditional costumes of the artists and the colorful exhibition booths make this area the “heart” of the fair. Here, traditional cultural values are vividly recreated through the art of puppetry, opera, pottery, lacquer, and contemporary creative products.

In the area of the Vietnam Puppetry Theatre, the audience can enjoy special water puppet and stage puppet shows. These are familiar images but always have their own appeal.

Many tourists, especially children, enjoy controlling the gilded wooden puppets, or taking photos with the artists after each performance.

“This was the first time my child tried controlling a puppet, he was excited throughout the session. I think this activity helps children understand more about traditional art,” said Nguyen Thi Hanh (Hanoi).

Not far away, the exhibition booth of the Vietnam Tuong Theatre attracts visitors with its vibrant colors and distinctive sounds. The sounds of drums, clappers, and monochords mixed with the smell of red lacquer on masks make many young people stop to learn more.

Some artists also directly guide guests to try drawing masks, introducing the meaning of each line and color in traditional opera art.

"The play seems dry, but when watching and experiencing it yourself, everyone finds it more interesting and closer," said Hoai Phong, a tourist from Bac Ninh .

Not only a performance venue, the “Quintessence of Vietnamese Culture” area also offers interactive experiences: visitors can touch artifacts, try playing traditional musical instruments, wear traditional costumes or participate in creative mini workshops. This open organization makes the area always crowded with visitors, especially on weekends.

In addition to heritage-honoring activities, the space also expands to introduce Vietnam’s creative industries – from books, games, cinema to digital art. The models and products on display show the efforts of young people in retelling Vietnamese culture in a modern language – new, creative but still imbued with identity.

The fusion of tradition and modernity makes the “Quintessence of Vietnamese Culture” area not only a place for exhibition, but also a bridge between heritage and the public, between the previous generation and today’s youth. Each performance, each booth tells a story about identity – not dry but close, lively and inspiring.

The 2025 Autumn Fair is not only an opportunity for trade connections, but also a testament to the vitality of national culture in contemporary life.

With a scale of over 130,000 m², the fair is considered a “national super fair”, a place to promote the quintessence of products and regional cultures across the country. The fair is expected to be open to visitors until November 4 at the Vietnam Exhibition Fair Center.
