Diverse tourism products
With its clean air, year-round beautiful natural scenery, and unique culture of ethnic minority communities, Ba Vi is the "green lung" of Hanoi and a popular resort destination for tourists. Not content with traditional products, Ba Vi is gradually transforming itself, boldly investing in the development of specialized tourism types, aiming to elevate the quality of the experience. Particularly noteworthy is health and wellness tourism – a model considered a strategic direction, contributing to positioning this region as a high-quality tourism destination.
Building upon its foundation as an attractive destination with thousands of accommodations, resorts, and experiential tourism options, Ba Vi has witnessed a breakthrough this year from businesses investing in new products. In particular, Ao Vua Joint Stock Company – the owner of one of Ba Vi's most famous tourist areas – has pioneered the development of health and wellness tourism by improving the efficiency of its large-scale Health Care Center. This center, designed with modern and luxurious features, leverages the local strengths in herbal medicine and traditional medicine to offer visitors natural, safe, and effective health recovery treatments.
In addition to sightseeing, recreation, picnics, and unique folk cultural experiences, Ao Vua Tourist Area also offers comprehensive health and wellness packages at reasonable costs, starting from just 599,000 VND per person. These packages include meals, accommodation, and services such as herbal jacuzzi baths, saunas, herbal steam treatments, body detoxification, and acupressure massage. The therapies are applied using traditional medicine methods, guided and performed by a team of well-trained technicians in a quiet, green, and relaxing environment.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Dat, a tourist from Hoang Mai district, shared: “Previously, my family often went to Ao Vua just for fun, hiking, and swimming in the streams. This year, I was particularly impressed with the health care services at Ao Vua. After experiencing the herbal steam bath and acupressure package, I felt much lighter and more comfortable. The atmosphere was very relaxing, the staff were professional, and the prices were reasonable. I will recommend it to my friends and return during the next summer vacation.”
According to Nguyen Manh Than, General Director of Ao Vua Joint Stock Company and Chairman of the Hanoi Tourism Association, Ba Vi is a familiar destination, but it never gets old because it constantly innovates in its tourism products and approaches. Investing in health and wellness tourism is an essential development, in line with modern tourism trends. This product not only enriches the visitor experience but also expands the customer segment, attracting groups with high demands for service quality and health.
According to Mr. Nguyen Manh Than, Ba Vi district has special potential for developing tourism associated with agriculture and healthcare. The district also boasts many distinctive agricultural products, certified as 3-4 star OCOP products, such as cow's milk, Ba Trai tea, herbal tea, honey, various medicinal extracts, and essential oils… This is a unique advantage in building experiential tourism from farm to table, from clean agriculture to natural healthcare products…

As Chairman of the Hanoi Tourism Association, Mr. Nguyen Manh Than expressed his hope that businesses and local authorities would continue to cooperate in building the Ba Vi tourism brand in a professional, systematic, and sustainable manner, contributing to enriching the local tourism ecosystem and aspiring to become a leading resort destination in Hanoi and Northern Vietnam. Furthermore, tourism in Ba Vi also contributes to improving the quality of life for local people, creating jobs, preserving and promoting the value of traditional medicine and precious local products.
The holiday season was lively right from the first day.
Observations at popular tourist destinations such as Ba Vi National Park and Ao Vua show that on the very first day of the holiday, tens of thousands of tourists flocked to Ba Vi for sightseeing and relaxation. Many routes from central Hanoi to Ba Vi were bustling with private vehicles and tourist buses.

High-end resorts such as Melia Ba Vi, Amour Resort, and Hanoi Paragon Hill Resort were fully booked about two weeks before the holiday. Meanwhile, homestays, farmstays, and garden houses in the communes of Van Hoa, Yen Bai, Ba Trai, and Minh Quang are also attracting many young families with reasonable prices. This year's April 30th and May 1st holidays are expected to see a significant increase in visitor numbers compared to previous years...
To prepare for the upcoming holidays and summer season, the People's Committee of Ba Vi District has requested that communes and towns, especially those with tourist areas such as Van Hoa, Yen Bai, Tan Linh, Minh Quang, Ba Trai, Cam Linh, etc., educate residents on maintaining environmental hygiene, ensuring security and order, and behaving in a civilized and friendly manner. Ba Vi is gradually becoming a "tourism brand" with its own unique characteristics and complete quality for visitors.

According to Nguyen Duc Anh, Vice Chairman of the Ba Vi District People's Committee, the district has directed tourist areas, attractions, and accommodation establishments to improve service quality and ensure the safety of tourists, especially regarding security, fire prevention and control, environmental hygiene, and food safety. With close coordination between the government, businesses, and the people, Ba Vi tourism has seen a significant increase in visitors, with many tourist areas operating at full capacity, including breakthroughs in new products such as health and wellness tourism and agricultural experience tourism.
