However, with a round-trip airfare of up to 5.6 million VND/person, he decided to choose a self-guided tour to the Central provinces to both save costs and explore new places.

Choosing to travel domestically by car is not too expensive compared to a package tour and the family is more proactive, can experience many interesting things. I expect that this trip will help my family save about 5 million VND compared to buying plane tickets for 4 people," said Nguyen Dang Viet.

Ms. Nguyen Nguyet Van Khanh, Marketing Director of Vietravel Tourism Company, said that the 5-day holiday of April 30 and May 1 this year, combined with the vibrant summer, will create favorable conditions for the demand for tourism to explode during the holiday. The trend of independent travel continues to rise and tourists will prioritize choosing destinations near Ho Chi Minh City, coastal tourism routes and nature tourism. It is expected that this year's tour prices will increase by about 10% or more due to the increased cost of destination services and airfares.

Domestic destinations attracting a large number of tourists during the April 30 and May 1 holidays include Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Da Nang, Quy Nhon, with high-class resort services and a variety of entertainment activities. Ticket prices for the Hanoi - Nha Trang and Hanoi - Quy Nhon routes have increased to 6-6.3 million VND/ticket, an increase of about 10 to 20% compared to the same period last year.
