4. Make a schedule : Should do it in advance, now online, everything is available. You can go to Japanese travel websites like JNTO (Vietnamese available) to see. Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka all have interesting destinations in terms of culture and history.
5. Transportation : After receiving your visa, consider purchasing a Japan Rail Pass if you plan to travel between the above major cities by train. You should also learn about the local subway and bus systems in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. When you get off at Tokyo airport, you can purchase and pre-load Suica and Pasmo cards for the above systems.
6. Currency exchange : Japan uses a lot of cash! You should also have a credit card as some places accept it.
7. Travel insurance : Must have, but when buying in Vietnam, you need to ask and understand the conditions clearly. In case of an accident abroad, you pay first and get the bill to pay later.
8. Health and Safety : Always check the latest travel information and health recommendations from Japan.
9. Communication : You can learn some basic Japanese phrases or download translation apps like Papago to help with communication. You should have a portable Wi-Fi device or a Japanese SIM card to connect to the internet. For Japan, you can usually only buy a data SIM or rent a Wi-Fi device.
