Traveling to the Capital on the occasion of April 30 holiday: Exciting and unique experiential activities

With the 5-day holiday from April 30 to May 1 this year, Hanoi’s tourism industry has announced a series of unprecedentedly exciting events. Many unique cultural, tourism and experiential programs have been launched to attract and serve domestic and international tourists during the approaching long holiday.

Many cultural activities and exhibitions

According to information from the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in response to the joyful atmosphere welcoming the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, many exhibitions and thematic displays have been organized to serve the people and tourists.

Accordingly, the event "Colors of Vietnamese ethnic cultures" has been taking place from April 1 to May 4, 2025; A series of special cultural activities in Hanoi's Old Quarter (from April 18, 2025 to the end of May 2025) with activities such as Exhibition of bamboo and rattan weaving with the theme "Made of Tre," Exhibition of art installations about Hang Bac craft street by artist The Son at Kim Ngan Communal House, Exhibition introducing Chuyen My mother-of-pearl inlay craft and organizing experiential workshops, Photo exhibition with the theme "Memories and legends."

At the Cultural and Artistic Center (22 Hang Buom, Hoan Kiem), there is an exhibition of propaganda paintings; at the Old Quarter Heritage Information Center (28 Hang Buom, Hoan Kiem), there is an exhibition of cultural and tourism exchange between Hanoi and Phu Yen; at the Hoan Kiem Lake Cultural Information Center, there is an exhibition of " Discovering the history of Hoan Kiem Lake"; at the villa at 46 Hang Bai (Hoan Kiem), there is an exhibition space "Discovering heritage."

At the National Museum of History, there will be a special exhibition called “The Country and Rivers Together” (from April 22 to August 2025); an exhibition with the theme “The Road to Unification” and a water puppet show (free of charge) for visitors (from April 29, 2025 at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Site - Hanoi); Cowboy Town Festival 2025 at Bao Son Paradise Park (from April 30 to May 4, 2025)...

Previously, the Hanoi Department of Tourism also issued a document requesting units, businesses, organizations and individuals operating in tourism to respond to the tourism stimulus program and carry out the work of building a tourism environment, protecting the tourism environment in tourist areas and spots in the city and requesting to ensure traffic order and safety to serve the travel needs of people during the April 30 - May 1 holiday and the peak summer tourism season in 2025.

Diverse travel experiences

Up to now, the city's public areas, flower gardens and parks have been renovated, refurbished, upgraded and environmental protection has been strengthened to serve the people's entertainment needs.

In the area around the City Opera House, Hoan Kiem District inaugurated the renovation project of Co Tan Flower Garden with the highlight of the work "Revival," inspired by the transformation of the life of a 60-year-old rosewood tree that was knocked down by Typhoon Yagi in 2024.

With the artistic creativity of the artist, the “historical witness of the Capital” has been given a new coat, a new shape, a new life at the same old location where the tree once had “a green life.” This will be one of the meaningful “check-in” locations for tourists and people of the Capital when coming to Hanoi during this year’s holiday.

Tourist attractions in the city have also proactively developed many diverse and rich tourism products to meet the sightseeing and entertainment needs of residents and visitors, such as the experiential activities with the theme "Vietnamese Spirit" at Lang Mo Retreat Resort.

Notably, the tour program “Discovering Ba Vi’s identity” with many unique experiences: Muong people’s worship culture; practicing farming tools, Muong agriculture; painting art on ostrich eggs; Dao people’s medicinal leaf therapy…

With the desire to build a brand of health care resort tourism, while focusing on preserving and maintaining cultural values ​​and community factors participating in tourism to develop sustainable tourism in the future, in the suburban area, many eco-tourism and resort products are being promoted.

In the inner city, hotels have many ways to attract and welcome guests to stay during the April 30 - May 1 holiday with promotions, discounts, and some complimentary services when staying at the facility.

In particular, on April 30 and May 1, at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, a representative of the Hanoi Department of Tourism said that they will continue to preside over and coordinate with the Mausoleum Management Board to organize support for drinking water, milk and bread to serve people and tourists visiting the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.

With a series of exciting activities and events during the holiday, Hanoi tourism industry is committed to continuing to provide attentive service, maximally meeting the needs of sightseeing, entertainment and relaxation of people and tourists; contributing to affirming the position of the Capital as a "Safe - Friendly - Quality - Attractive" destination./.

In order to ensure traffic order and safety to serve people's travel needs during the April 30 and May 1 holidays and the peak summer tourism season in 2025, the Hanoi Department of Tourism said it will continue to direct units to strictly implement legal regulations on tourism and related laws; proactively inspect and upgrade facilities, service procedures, ensure security, safety, rescue, and quality of services for tourists; comply with regulations on fire prevention and fighting, ensure food safety and hygiene in tourism businesses; take measures to protect the tourism environment, collect and treat garbage and waste in accordance with regulations;

At the same time, strictly implement regulations on registration, public price posting, and selling at the correct listed price for products and services serving the entertainment, shopping, sightseeing, experience, and culinary needs of tourists (service prices must be posted at the reception area, in a visible place, where customers can access before using the service).
