Draft documents of the 14th National Congress: Expectations for a new era of development for the country

In the atmosphere of the whole country looking forward to the 14th National Congress of the Party, these days, Party members and a large number of people in Hanoi are actively and enthusiastically participating in contributing opinions to the draft documents of the Congress.

With a high sense of responsibility, the contributions all expressed great expectations for a new era of development for the country, with breakthrough decisions, helping Vietnam achieve its goals by 2030 and vision to 2045.

Sending great faith and aspirations

Mr. Dao Xuan Van (alias Phan Dung, a 77-year veteran Party member in Khuong Dinh ward, Hanoi city) expressed his joy that in recent years, our Party has led the country to achieve very important and comprehensive results, especially in the 40-year journey of innovation.

According to Mr. Dao Xuan Van, the draft documents of the 14th National Party Congress fully reflect the will, aspirations and beliefs of cadres, party members and people, creating social consensus, affirming the strength of great national unity under the leadership of the Party; at the same time, frankly pointing out limitations, causes and proposing appropriate orientations, goals, tasks and solutions for the next development stage.

Mr. Dao Xuan Van expressed his wish that the Party should focus more on personnel work; promote the exemplary role of Party members, especially leaders; resolutely and persistently fight against corruption, negativity and waste; continue to innovate the Party's leadership and governance methods and fighting strength to meet the requirements of the new situation.

Besides, thoroughly grasp and concretize the viewpoint that "people are the root", strongly promote the role of the people as the main subject, socialist democracy and the strength of great national unity.

Mr. Le Viet Hung (a retired cadre in Hai Ba Trung ward, Hanoi) hopes that the 14th National Party Congress will have breakthrough decisions on developing Vietnamese culture and people, especially building and promoting the cultural values of the thousand-year-old capital Hanoi.

"We not only expect the country to be economically strong but also to have an advanced culture with a strong national identity. People need to enjoy a civilized and safe living environment, fresh air, and convenient transportation. That is the era of development that people most expect," said Mr. Le Viet Hung.

It can be seen that the enthusiastic and responsible contributions of Party members and people of all walks of life in Hanoi are converging, placing their great faith and aspirations in the 14th National Party Congress, opening a new era of development and prosperity for the country.

Strong and comprehensive development of Vietnamese culture and people

In the cultural field, intellectuals, artists, and researchers also contributed many opinions, affirming that the draft has demonstrated profound development in theoretical thinking and strategic orientation of the Party towards Vietnamese people and culture in the new period.

Dr. Tran Thi Tuyet Mai, Hanoi University of Culture, said that the Draft Documents of the 14th National Congress of Delegates with the theme: the whole nation joins hands and unites to successfully implement the country's development goals until 2030; strategic autonomy, self-reliance, self-confidence, and strong progress in the era of national development for peace , independence, democracy, wealth, prosperity, civilization, happiness, and steady progress towards socialism. With the goal of strongly and comprehensively developing Vietnamese culture and people, the Draft Documents of the Congress define the guiding ideology with important basic orientations "Building and developing an advanced Vietnamese culture, imbued with national identity, synchronous on the foundation of the national value system, cultural value system, family value system and Vietnamese human standards."

According to Dr. Tran Thi Tuyet Mai, in the Draft Documents of the 14th National Congress of Delegates, the Party's theoretical thinking and awareness of the role of culture and the goal of building culture in the period of innovation are constantly supplemented, perfected, and developed to a new level, affirming the important position and role of culture.

If in the past, in the system of documents of the National Congress, our Party emphasized caring for and developing Vietnamese culture and people, then in the Draft Documents of the 14th Congress, the Party set out the requirement of strongly and comprehensively developing the cultural field - a breakthrough ideology in the Party's theoretical thinking on building and developing Vietnamese culture and people.

Based on the theoretical thinking on comprehensive cultural construction and development, the content of the tasks of cultural construction and development and human resources are specifically covered in many fields. The Party identifies new groups of tasks suitable for the development of culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development, aiming to build a rich, prosperous, civilized, happy country, firmly moving towards socialism, advancing strongly in the era of the nation's rise for peace, independence and democracy.

Regarding cultural building and development, the Party focuses on the grassroots, building family, school and social culture to protect and preserve good customs, the spirit of mutual love, solidarity, loyalty, and morality, combining tradition and modernity.

Regarding human development, the content of building ethics, cultural lifestyle, family culture, political culture, professional culture, business culture, corporate culture, creative startup culture and business ethics... is mentioned by the Party on a broad scale.

These are the orientations and tasks for us to determine the important role of culture and human resources in development, to elevate culture and human resources to become a regulatory system, leading the country to rise in the new era, in line with the movement and development of the country in the new period, and at the same time are also important suggestions in terms of theory, important tasks associated with practical requirements to continue to have new awareness, have more comprehensive and profound breakthrough thinking about the relationship of culture and human resources of Vietnam in the context of national development.

Dr. Tran Thi Tuyet Mai said that the Party's orientations on "Strongly and comprehensively developing Vietnamese culture and people", building and developing Vietnamese culture and people in the Draft Documents of the National Congress of Delegates demonstrate a comprehensive, profound and groundbreaking viewpoint.

If in the past, the orientations were: caring for and developing culture; building and developing culture... then in the 14th Congress Document, the Party raised the task of developing culture to a new level, not just development but "strong, comprehensive" development.

This goal has been concretized by the Party through specific tasks covering most areas of cultural life and human development, to complete the Draft Documents of the 14th National Congress of Delegates.

Culture is the spiritual foundation of society, both the goal and the driving force for socio-economic development. In building culture, the focus is on taking care of building people with personality to carry out the work of building and defending the Fatherland.

Identifying the important role of culture in the system of documents of the National Party Congress, the Party's theoretical thinking more clearly defines the model, characteristics, content, and tasks of Vietnamese culture that need to be built in the new period.

The content of advanced Vietnamese culture, imbued with national identity and the basic qualities of Vietnamese people have been determined by our Party in each historical period, in accordance with the development of the country to build and develop Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable development of the country in the period of industrialization, modernization and international integration.

With the goal of strongly and comprehensively developing Vietnamese culture and people, successfully implementing the country's development goals by 2030, the Draft Document of the 14th National Congress of Delegates with breakthrough theoretical thinking through comprehensive, profound, comprehensive orientations and specific groups of tasks in many fields of building and developing Vietnamese culture and people aims to comprehensively and synchronously develop cultural fields, cultural environment, rich, diverse, civilized and healthy cultural life; build Vietnamese people to develop comprehensively, closely and harmoniously between traditional values and modern values; orient to determine and deploy the building of a national value system, a cultural value system and standards for Vietnamese people in the new period so that Vietnamese culture and people truly become an endogenous strength, a driving force to protect and develop the country./.
