According to initial information, at around 8:00 p.m. on June 20, a little girl was playing near the Saigon River, near Bach Dang Street (Phu Cuong Ward, Thu Dau Mot City) when she slipped and fell into the water. At this time, the mother jumped in to save her child but was unsuccessful, both were swept away by the current.

At this moment, Mr. Nguyen Van Hao (31 years old, living in Binh Duong) discovered the incident and jumped into the water to save the mother and child. However, when Mr. Hao was able to hold the girl, he was exhausted and could not swim to shore due to the strong current.

Many people discovered the drowning incident in the Saigon River and shouted for help. At that time, Au Van Tuan, who was selling goods nearby, ran over and jumped into the river to rescue 3 people struggling in the middle of the water, about 10 meters from the shore.

Many witnesses were excited and happy when all 3 people were brought to shore safely.

Because he was alone, Mr. Tuan could only pull the girl and the young man to shore. The woman was swept further away by the current. At that moment, Mr. Nguyen Anh Du (21 years old, from Phu Yen ) was nearby and saw the incident, so he quickly jumped into the river and swam out to help save the woman and bring her to shore.

Many people who witnessed the incident felt nervous. When they saw all three people brought to shore safely, everyone was happy.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hao tried to save people but was exhausted and was brought safely to shore.

Speaking to Thanh Nien reporter, a representative of the Phu Cuong Ward People's Committee added that in the area where the slip occurred, causing people to fall into the water (the riverside area where ships and boats are moored - reporter), the ward has long placed two danger warning signs. However, some people still go down regardless.

According to this leader, this afternoon, June 21, the People's Committee of Phu Cuong Ward will coordinate with Thu Dau Mot City and the management unit of this boat mooring area to come up with a plan to stretch ropes across the river edges where boats and ships are moored to ensure the safety of people coming to play in this area.

"For the brave act of saving people, currently the People's Committee of Phu Cuong Ward is also gathering information about these brave young men and will advise Thu Dau Mot City to reward them," said this leader.
