A bountiful anchovy harvest.

In recent days, many fishing boats from Phu Yen province have returned after a night of fishing with catches of 2-3 tons of anchovies, with some boats achieving yields of 5-7 tons. With selling prices ranging from 12,000-15,000 VND/kg, after deducting expenses, each boat earns a profit of approximately 20-40 million VND.

 

According to fishermen, anchovies have been appearing in large numbers in the sea area 2-5 nautical miles from the shore for about 10 days now. Each boat has 8-10 fishermen, departing from the previous afternoon and returning the following morning; if the catch is good, each fisherman earns about 1-2 million VND after one night…

 

Reporters from Phu Yen Newspaper captured some images of anchovy harvesting and processing activities in the coastal villages of My Quang Bac and My Quang Nam hamlets, An Chan commune, Tuy An district.

After blanching, the fishermen dry the anchovies in the sun.

Anchovies are being sun-dried everywhere.
