Anchovy season

In recent days, many fishing boats of Phu Yen fishermen after a night of fishing can catch 2-3 tons of anchovies, some boats can reach 5-7 tons. With the selling price fluctuating around 12,000-15,000 VND/kg, after deducting costs, each boat makes a profit of about 20-40 million VND.

 

According to fishermen, anchovies have been appearing densely in the sea area 2-5 nautical miles from shore for about 10 days now. Each boat has 8-10 fishermen, departing from the previous afternoon and returning the next morning; if the yield is good, each fisherman earns about 1-2 million VND after one night...

 

Phu Yen Newspaper reporters recorded some images of anchovy exploitation and processing activities in the fishing villages of My Quang Bac and My Quang Nam, An Chan commune, Tuy An district.

After blanching, fishermen put the anchovies out to dry in the sun.
