Elanga price increases rapidly

Newcastle have just had a £45 million offer rejected by Nottingham Forest for Anthony Elanga - former Manchester United youngster.

45 million pounds is not enough for Newcastle to recruit Elanga.

According to The Athletic , Forest immediately refused without further consideration or response, because they have no intention of selling the Swedish striker in this summer transfer window. Elanga is currently an irreplaceable pillar under coach Nuno Espirito Santo.

Last season, he played all 38 Premier League games, scored 6 goals and contributed 11 assists, helping Forest stay in the league. Elanga was recruited by Forest from MU 2 years ago for a fee of only 15 million pounds, but his value has skyrocketed thanks to his consistent performance and ability to create breakthroughs.

Elanga has been with the MU academy since the age of 12, making his first-team debut in 2021 and scoring four goals in 55 appearances. But due to a lack of playing opportunities under Erik ten Hag, he decided to leave in the summer of 2023 to seek a new chapter in his career.

Newcastle are considering whether to return with a better offer or move on to other targets. Manager Eddie Howe is keen on adding a right-back to compete with Jacob Murphy.

A series of other names are also being targeted by Newcastle such as Antoine Semenyo (Bournemouth), Mohammed Kudus (West Ham), Johan Bakayoko (PSV) and Karim Adeyemi (Dortmund).
