FPT expands strategic cooperation in Korea in semiconductor industry and high-quality human resource training

Seoul, South Korea - August 12, 2025 - Within the framework of the Vietnam - Korea Economic Forum 2025 and witnessed by General Secretary To Lam, South Korean Prime Minister Kim Min Seok and senior leaders of the two countries, FPT Corporation signed strategic cooperation agreements with ABOV Semiconductor and Gachon University to promote the development of semiconductor technology and training of high-quality human resources between the two countries, in the context of strong growth of the global digital economy.

Cooperate with ABOV Semiconductor to develop new generation chips

FPT Corporation has just signed a cooperation agreement with ABOV Semiconductor - a leading semiconductor company in Korea, specializing in designing and manufacturing microcontrollers and memory chips - to promote cooperation in the research, design and development of semiconductor chips, while expanding the market and promoting the application of semiconductor products in Korea. Specifically, the two sides will use chips designed by FPT, especially in the Korean market; implement cooperation projects in research, design and development of new generation chips, and develop competitive products and other flexible cooperation according to each project and actual needs.

In its semiconductor development plan in Korea, FPT Corporation wishes to participate in building a comprehensive semiconductor ecosystem, from human resources to services, towards sustainable and long-term development. Currently, FPT has strengths in custom microchip design services according to customer requirements and will expand to advanced packaging and semiconductor testing services in the future. Korea is currently a key semiconductor market with a scale of about 87 billion USD (2023), continuing to grow thanks to strong investment from large corporations.

Linking training of high-tech human resources with Gachon University

In the field of training, FPT University signed a cooperation agreement with Gachon University - one of the leading universities in Korea - to strongly promote cooperation activities such as: student exchange and training (including undergraduate and graduate levels); organizing joint training programs; exchanging lecturers, scholars and experts; sharing documents, academic publications and research information; and other academic exchange activities. This agreement is expected to contribute to improving the quality of technology human resource training, promoting academic connections and knowledge exchange between Vietnam and Korea.

Gachon University is famous for its strength in training in IT and high technology, especially in the fields of Semiconductors, Data Science , Artificial Intelligence and has cooperated in research with many leading technology corporations such as Samsung, LG, SK Hynix.

Meanwhile, FPT University is one of the pioneering schools in Vietnam in training in the fields of information technology, from Artificial Intelligence, Information Security, Software Engineering, Semiconductor Design, with programs closely linked to business needs and international standards.

Korea - FPT's strategic market in APAC
