The cooperation between Fulbright and Columbia was launched in 2022, when the two sides signed an educational agreement within the framework of the workshop “Understand the Past - Transform the Future”.
Since then, many cooperation programs have been implemented, including the Public Policy and Leadership program for senior officials and leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, inheriting the cooperation between the Fulbright Economics Teaching Program (FETP) and Harvard University in the past.
Another project within the framework of the cooperation is “Digitizing Vietnam” , developed by the Fulbright Center for Vietnamese Studies in collaboration with the Weatherhead East Asia Institute.
The project focuses on applying AI in preserving, selecting and digitizing valuable documents, aiming to analyze, reconstruct and visualize Vietnamese cultural data. This approach helps bring traditional cultural values closer to the public in the context of digital transformation.
The signing ceremony also took place with a discussion session entitled “Towards a New Era of Development: Technology, Higher Education and the Future of Reform in Vietnam” , with the participation of Mr. Thomas Vallely - Founding Chairman of the Fulbright Vietnam Board of Trustees, Dr. Jonathan Pincus - Director of FSPPM, Ms. Annabel Lee (Amazon Web Services), Mr. Hiep Huynh (ACEN Vietnam) and former Ambassador Vu Quang Minh .
