Nearly 500 athletes from Vinh Hung ward participated in the Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run

Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports ; leaders of Vinh Hung ward; and nearly 500 athletes from 56 units in the ward.

In her opening speech, Vice Chairwoman of Vinh Hung Ward People's Committee, Quan Thi Van Anh, emphasized: The Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run is an annual cultural and sports activity associated with the thousand-year-old capital of Hanoi - City for Peace .

The 2025 race gathered nearly 500 athletes who are cadres, soldiers, civil servants, employees, workers, students, and people living and working in the ward from 56 athlete groups competing in many events. This is also an opportunity to check the sports movement of units in the whole ward. Thereby, evaluating units with excellent sports movements, and at the same time selecting typical athletes to participate in the final round of the Hanoi Moi Newspaper City-level race in 2025.

According to comrade Quan Thi Van Anh, this race took place in the context of Vinh Hung ward just starting to operate under the two-level local government model, Vinh Hung ward organized the Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run for the first time. This is a major activity to evaluate the mass sports movement among the people of the capital in general and Vinh Hung ward in particular; at the same time, it is an opportunity to exchange, strengthen the great solidarity of the people, create a useful and healthy playground, promote the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", contributing to building cultural and spiritual life in the community.

Emphasizing that the race contributes to improving the quality of people's lives, especially in terms of health, physical and mental health - a vivid demonstration of the motto "Close to the people, close to the people" of the new government model, Vice Chairman of Vinh Hung Ward People's Committee Quan Thi Van Anh expressed her belief that the first Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run of Vinh Hung Ward will be successful, leaving many good impressions in the hearts of athletes and supporters, becoming a meaningful annual activity of the ward. From this sports movement, the ward will discover athletes with qualities and talents to continue to train, strive, and reach higher achievements in city-level tournaments and beyond.

As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded 36 prizes, including First, Second, and Third prizes in the amateur and advanced distances in 4 athlete groups: Secondary school; armed forces, workers, civil servants, and the masses.
