BHG - Information from the Forest Protection and Development Fund on the implementation of the policy on payment for forest environmental services (PFES), by the end of the first quarter of 2025, the whole province had 465,033.86 hectares of forest paid for FES, reaching 98.9% of the total 470,166.9 hectares of forest area in the whole province.

Specifically, the area covered by forest environmental services is allocated as follows: Forest management organizations 94,956.66 ha; households and individuals 115,768.51 ha; household groups and communities 11,215.20 ha; Commune-level People's Committees manage 242,046.43 ha; organizations assigned by the State to manage forests 1,047.06 ha. In total, more than 1,960 communities and over 45,600 households and individuals participate in forest management and protection and benefit from this policy.

Revenue from forest environmental services in the first quarter reached VND 23 billion 394.3 million, used to pay for forest environmental service providers and support the activities of the Provincial Forest Protection and Development Fund. The forest environmental service policy continues to affirm itself as an effective financial tool, contributing to creating sustainable livelihoods for people living near forests, raising community awareness in forest protection and responding to climate change.
In the coming time, the Forest Protection and Development Fund will coordinate with localities to continue to direct the review and update of forest areas providing forest environmental services, ensuring publicity, transparency, and targeting the right subjects; at the same time, promote communication work, creating consensus in the community on the policy of paying for forest environmental services.
