Meeting and cooperation between Quang Binh and Tokyo

That was the affirmation of the leaders of Quang Binh province at the "Meeting and Cooperation between Quang Binh and Tokyo" seminar held on September 22 in Tokyo, Japan. The event was organized by the People's Committee of Quang Binh province in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, contributing to promoting cooperation in the fields of economy , trade and investment between Quang Binh province and Tokyo.

Attending the seminar were: Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee Vu Dai Thang; Permanent Vice Chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee Doan Ngoc Lam; Executive Vice President of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Nakazawa Katsunori; representatives of leaders of a number of departments and branches of Quang Binh province; representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan and representatives of Japanese enterprises and economic groups.

Speaking at the opening of the seminar, Permanent Vice Chairman of Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee Doan Ngoc Lam briefly introduced the potentials, outstanding strengths and advantageous areas of Quang Binh province; at the same time, expressed the desire to bring Quang Binh closer to Japanese enterprises, taking advantage of the potentials and strengths to help Quang Binh develop quickly and sustainably in the coming time.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee affirmed that Quang Binh always opens its doors to welcome investors; at the same time, it is committed to accompanying and creating the most favorable conditions to turn investors' ideas and the province's development goals into reality. Quang Binh Province will also coordinate and effectively accompany investors and enterprises in promoting procedures to implement projects and apply the largest investment incentive policies to ensure harmonious benefits for both sides.

Ambassador of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan Nguyen Duc Minh highly appreciated the delegation of the People's Committee of Quang Binh province for coordinating to organize the "Meeting and Cooperation between Quang Binh and Tokyo" - an important and meaningful event on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan and 35 years of attracting foreign investment to Vietnam.

Japan is currently the official development assistance (ODA) country for Vietnam, the third largest partner in investment and tourism, and the fourth largest trading partner of Vietnam. Up to now, most of the famous Japanese corporations have been present in Vietnam, not only playing a pioneering role in investment cooperation but also promoting the cooperative relationship between the two countries to become more substantial and effective.

According to Ambassador Nguyen Duc Minh, with its outstanding potential and strengths, Quang Binh is an attractive destination for domestic and foreign investors and enterprises; at the same time, he believes that through this event, representatives of Japanese enterprises can see the overall picture of Quang Binh in terms of investment environment, increasingly developed and perfect infrastructure, young and abundant human resources... This is also an opportunity for Japanese enterprises to meet and exchange with provincial leaders, departments, branches, enterprises... to jointly build effective and practical cooperative relationships in the future.

Speaking at the seminar, JETRO Executive Vice President Nakazawa Katsunori expressed his personal and JETRO’s deep gratitude and appreciation to Vietnam in general and Quang Binh in particular for accompanying, helping and cooperating with Japanese enterprises. Highlighting the figures showing the strong development in the cooperative relationship between Japan and Vietnam, Mr. Nakazawa Katsunori also shared about the needs of Japanese investors and enterprises in the Vietnamese market such as high-quality human resources, production of environmentally friendly products, etc.

Sharing at the Seminar, Quang Binh Provincial Party Secretary Vu Dai Thang said that up to now, Quang Binh has not had any Japanese investment enterprises. However, Quang Binh province is currently providing great support to Mitsubishi Corporation, which is participating in the construction of Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant. And in the orientation of developing Quang Binh into an energy center of the Central region and the whole country, Quang Binh province has coordinated with many Japanese enterprises. Through the process of exchange and negotiation, Quang Binh province has cooperated with EREX Joint Stock Company to implement the biomass power plant project very soon. Currently, Quang Binh is also negotiating with a Japanese enterprise to transfer a local waste and waste-to-energy plant.

Quang Binh Provincial Party Secretary Vu Dai Thang emphasized: The above specific examples affirm that Japanese enterprises coming to Quang Binh will receive effective support from the province. More importantly, Quang Binh province has recently signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Yamanashi province, a prominent locality in the energy sector of Japan. This is an extremely important foundation for Quang Binh agencies, authorities and enterprises to make changes, becoming a close, friendly, trustworthy and effective destination for Japan in general and enterprises in particular.
