Overview of the working session of the delegation at the People's Committee of Long Hai commune

According to the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance of Ho Chi Minh City, Long Hai commune currently has 1,262 fishing vessels. As of October 25, the locality has 272 vessels that are not qualified to operate because they have not renewed necessary documents such as fishing licenses, fishing vessel technical safety certificates, or food safety certificates.

Representatives of departments, offices and localities discussed the content of implementing fishing vessel management.

Of these, 179 fishing vessels are anchored on shore and have been assigned by the commune authorities to hamlets for monitoring and supervision. The remaining cases include those reported missing, those anchored outside the province, those sold out of the locality but have not completed the transfer procedures, or those whose owners have signed a declaration to deregister. All of these cases are required to be closely monitored to prevent re-violation of regulations on IUU prevention.

At the same time, the commune also coordinates with Phuoc Tinh Border Guard Station and hamlets in strictly managing fishing vessels that do not meet the conditions for exploitation, resolutely not allowing violations in the work of preventing IUU.
