Cristiano Ronaldo's girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez, sparked controversy by not posting a birthday message on social media when the Portuguese striker turned 39 on February 5th.
On his birthday, Ronaldo received many birthday wishes from his family members, including his two sisters Katia and Emma, and his mother Dolores Aveiro.
But Georgina – who has 56.9 million followers on Instagram and is the most followed Spaniard on the platform – hasn't posted any messages related to her boyfriend.
This topic was discussed on Aruser@s – the morning program on La Sexta – where guest Tatiana Arus expressed her displeasure with Georgina's actions. Host Alfonso Arus speculated that Georgina might not have congratulated Ronaldo because she was busy filming the next installment of her documentary "I Am Georgina," promising exciting new developments.

Part one of "I Am Georgina" was a great success, offering viewers a fresh and more detailed look at Georgina's family life with Ronaldo and their children. Viewers also learned about the moment Ronaldo fell for Georgina, when she was a sales assistant at a Gucci store in Madrid earning $14 an hour. Currently, Georgina is a model for Gucci.
But on Instagram on February 6th, Ronaldo posted a photo celebrating his birthday with Georgina and their children, along with the message: "So grateful to have celebrated my 39th birthday in the best way possible: with family and back on the training pitch. Thank you all for the warm messages!"
On the same social media platform, the clubs Ronaldo has played for – Sporting, Man Utd, Juventus, Al Nassr – all posted congratulatory messages for the Portuguese striker.
Only Real Madrid remained silent. Real Madrid is also where Ronaldo achieved the most success. Ronaldo joined the Bernabeu from Manchester United in the summer of 2009 for a then- world record fee of $97 million, ushering in an era of skyrocketing player values. After nine seasons, Ronaldo won four Champions League titles, two La Liga titles, and 10 other trophies with Real Madrid. He also surpassed Raul Gonzalez to become the club's all-time leading scorer with 451 goals in 438 matches, and won four Ballon d'Or awards.
Meanwhile, Al Nassr presented Ronaldo with a birthday cake before training on February 5th at the Al-Awwal stadium. The Portuguese striker happily posed for photos with his teammates, and Al Nassr posted the picture on Instagram with the message, "Birthdays are meant to be celebrated with family."

Ronaldo has just returned to training after a calf injury that caused him to miss the Riyadh Cup friendly tournament, where Al Nassr thrashed Lionel Messi's Inter Miami 6-0. Al Nassr will begin the second half of the season with a first-leg AFC Champions League Round of 16 match against Al Feiha on February 14th. Ronaldo is expected to be available for this match.
Ronaldo hasn't played since the 4-1 victory against Al Taawoun in the 19th round of the Saudi Pro League on December 30, 2023. The Portuguese striker contributed a goal in injury time to become the top scorer of 2023 with 54 goals, including 10 for the Portuguese national team and 44 at club level. Since then, Ronaldo has enjoyed a mid-season break and suffered an injury upon his return to training.
