Northern pig price
Over the past week, the price of live pigs in the North continued to decrease sharply in many provinces and cities. Currently, the price in this area is not much different from other areas, with prices ranging from 66,000 - 67,000 VND/kg.
Notably, localities such as Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Thai Nguyen, Thai Binh, Ha Nam, Tuyen Quang and Hanoi recorded the highest price in the country, reaching 67,000 VND/kg.
Pig price in Central Highlands
In the Central and Central Highlands regions, live pig prices also tended to decrease by 1,000 - 2,000 VND/kg last week in the provinces of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Lam Dong, Binh Dinh and Dak Lak .
The survey shows that the price of live pigs in this area is currently between 64,000 - 66,000 VND/kg. Of which, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Ha Tinh have the highest price in the region, reaching 66,000 VND/kg.
Southern pig price
Similarly, the live hog market in the South also went down following the general trend. Over the past week, prices decreased by 1,000 - 2,000 VND/kg in the provinces of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Thap, Tay Ninh, Can Tho, Ben Tre, Hau Giang, Binh Duong, Long An and Bac Lieu.
Currently, traders in the South are purchasing live pigs at prices ranging from 63,000 to 65,000 VND/kg. Notably, Ben Tre and Bac Lieu recorded the lowest prices in the country, only 63,000 VND/kg.

According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, as of the end of September, the total pig herd nationwide increased by 2.5% compared to the same period last year. Notably, small-scale farming decreased, while large-scale farming continued to develop steadily. The total poultry herd also increased by 2.2%, while the total number of cows decreased by 0.4% and the total number of buffaloes decreased by 3.6%. The increase in the total herd is expected to help stabilize supply and prices at the end of the year.
