On June 18th, Mr. Pham Quang Hoi, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Agricultural Consulting and Support Center, stated that the highlight of this year's Week is the participation of many OCOP (One Commune One Product) products, along with key agricultural products from Ho Chi Minh City and many localities nationwide. This is an opportunity for businesses to promote their brands, expand their markets, and enhance the value of Vietnamese agricultural products.
More than just a product display space, the event also serves as a connecting link between the "four stakeholders": farmers, scientists , businesses, and managers. Ho Chi Minh City continues to affirm its role as a regional hub for high-tech agricultural development by introducing a series of advanced technological solutions such as: smart farming models, automated sensor equipment, digital transformation software in livestock and crop farming, and sustainable organic breeding technologies. These applications contribute to promoting green and clean agriculture and adapting to climate change.
One of the key highlights is strengthening cooperation in the production of plant, animal, and aquatic species between Ho Chi Minh City and other localities domestically and internationally, especially in the ASEAN region. Through workshops, seminars, cooperation agreements, and technical demonstrations, participating parties have the opportunity to share experiences, access scientific and technological advancements, and build sustainable agricultural value chains.
Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, added that the Week also concretizes the agreement on socio-economic development cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces and cities for the period up to 2025. Through this, it affirms the role of Ho Chi Minh City not only as an economic, cultural, and social center but also as a hub for promoting trade, science, and technology in the agricultural sector.
The event also provides an opportunity for people, especially young people, to get closer to the achievements of modern agriculture, thereby igniting a passion for high-tech agriculture and agricultural entrepreneurship; at the same time, raising community awareness about the role of plant varieties and high technology in sustainable agricultural development and ensuring national food security.
